How do Banpo people weave with spinning?
Banpo people's clothes come from two sources, one is animal skin, and the other is cloth made of plant fibers. People can get not only meat but also fur through hunting activities. Banpo people use stone knives to skin animals, which are soft, smooth, beautiful and durable, and are ideal winter clothes.
The discovery of pottery, stone spinning wheel and bone shuttle makes people believe that the clever Banpo people have mastered the technology of spinning and weaving. They use the fibers of wild plants, such as pueraria lobata and hemp, to twist them into threads and weave them into cloth with spinning wheels. At that time, the loom was horizontal, with one end fixed by warp and the other end tied to the waist. Use the bone shuttle to shuttle back and forth when you use it. Although no cloth woven by Banpo people was found in the site, Banpo people left very clear linen marks on the bottom of some pottery. This kind of linen is as thick as today's sacks and as thin as canvas.
28 1 bone needle was also unearthed at Banpo site. These bone needles are exquisitely made, and pinholes for threading have appeared at the end of the needles, which shows that sewing clothes was quite common at that time. As for the style of clothes, it's probably not decided yet. According to ethnological and archaeological data, it is speculated that there is a style that is probably conjoined, with a piece of linen wrapped around the body and a rope tied around the waist. This kind of clothes is supreme and sleeveless. Another style "clothes" and "petticoats" may be separated, like short shirts and short skirts now, and the lower part is mainly waist protection and predecessor, which is the most primitive clothing style of human beings. The appearance of clothes is not only used to keep out the cold and prevent heatstroke, but also plays a certain decorative role.
Judging from the traces left at the bottom of pottery, most of them are herringbone patterns, as well as basket patterns, mat patterns, cloth patterns and so on. It can be seen that Banpo people have widely used woven fabrics, and their methods and skills seem to be almost the same as those of people in Guanzhong area of Shaanxi Province today. Judging from the textile technology, they have reached a certain level. The ancient legend "Apollo made clothes at the beginning, tied his hands with ten fingers, and achieved a net", which generally conforms to the textile technology of Banpo handicraft industry.
