The relationship between music and fine arts
Fine art and music are both included in and art, and they are both forms of artistic expression.
Music can be divided into two major types: vocal music and instrumental music, and can be roughly divided into classical music, folk music, original music, modern music (including pop music) and so on. Among the types of art, music is abstract, and music can be divided into oriental and western music in terms of its historical development.
The ancient Chinese theory of the East, led by Chinese Han music, is based on the five-tone scale, i.e., Gong, Shang, Horn, Zheng, and Feather, while the West is based on the seven-tone scale. Music is pleasing to the eye and brings aural enjoyment to all. Music can improve one's aesthetic ability, purify people's hearts and set up lofty ideals.
The fine arts are divided into four categories: painting, sculpture, design and architecture. In modern times, some scholars have also included others in this category, such as calligraphy, photography, and so on.
The term "fine arts" was first used in Europe in the 17th century, and is thought to have appeared officially in the mid-18th century. In modern Japan, it was transliterated into Chinese characters, and was introduced to China around the May Fourth Movement, when it began to be commonly used.
