How to get a marriage certificate in China when you marry a foreigner?

Procedures for foreigners to get married in China:

I. Documents required for marriage:

1. Documents required by foreigners:

(1) my passport or other proof of identity and nationality;

(2) Identity certificate or temporary entry and residence certificate issued by the foreign affairs department;

(3) issued by our country (or authorized organ) and our embassy in that country and certified by our notary office.

2, foreigners need to hold documents:

(1) Identity and nationality certificate of my passport or substitute passport (stateless);

(2) Identity certificate or temporary entry and residence certificate issued by the foreign affairs department;

(3) Certificate of my name, gender, date of birth, marital status (unmarried, divorced, widowed), occupation, and application for marriage issued by the people's government at or above the county level where my work unit is located. In addition, both men and women applying for marriage are required to submit the pre-marital health examination certificate and photos of both parties issued by the hospital designated by the marriage management registration authority.

(4) In order to register marriage in China, foreigners need not only the documents specified in the second paragraph above, but also the relevant legal provisions that their domestic laws recognize their registration in other countries.

(5) Examination and approval procedures for foreign-related marriage registration: relevant certificates issued by countries that have no relations with China shall be authenticated by the embassies (consulates) of third countries in that country and China in third countries or the embassies (consulates) of third countries in China.
