After the Revolution of 1911, Dr. Sun Yat-sen put forward the plan of large-scale afforestation in North China and Central China. 1924, in a speech in Guangzhou, he emphasized that the fundamental way to prevent floods and droughts is to continuously plant trees and build forests on a large scale.
At the initiative of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, on July 30th, 19 15, China first designated Qingming as Arbor Day. 1925 March 12 after the death of Sun Yat-sen, it was decided to designate March, the day of Sun Yat-sen's death, as Arbor Day to commemorate his contribution in advocating afforestation. ?
