What's the difference between industrial resin and laboratory resin?
There is little difference between industrial resin and laboratory resin.
The pretreatment of cationic resin and anionic resin is similar, except that dilute solution of 12- 15% hydrochloric acid (by weight) is used for cationic resin, and 6-8% (solid) sodium hydroxide solution is used for anionic resin (it must be dissolved with soft water, not hard water).
The pretreatment of anion-cation resin before use only needs to be soaked in water 12 hours to fully expand the resin, then washed with dilute hydrochloric acid solution or sodium hydroxide solution for about 45-60 minutes, and then washed away with water until it is clean (about 15-20 minutes).
