Where is the Sanjiangyuan area?

The "Three Rivers Source" area is located in the hinterland of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in China, a high-altitude area in the south of Qinghai Province, with an average elevation of 3,500 to 4,800 meters. Known as the "roof of the world", the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is the highest plateau with the highest average elevation in the world and the birthplace of many rivers in Asia, and is known as the "water tower in Asia". The latitude and longitude of Sanjiangyuan region ranges from 31.5 to 36 north latitude and 90102 east longitude, with a total area of about 300,000 square kilometers, accounting for 43% of the total area of Qinghai Province.

Geological landform

Qinghai Sanjiangyuan National Nature Reserve is the birthplace of the Yangtze River, the Yellow River and the Lancang River. The lowest altitude is 3335 meters, the highest altitude is 6564 meters, and the relative height difference is 3229 meters. The lowest elevation is located on the Jinsha River in the southeast of Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, with an average elevation of about 4,400 meters.

The central, western and northern parts of China are in primitive mountainous state, with little ups and downs and deep cutting, and there are many wide and flat beaches. Because of the gentle terrain, long ice age and poor drainage, a large area of swamp was formed. In the alpine canyon area in the southeast, the cutting is intense, the relative height difference is above 1000m, the terrain is steep, and the slope is above 30 degrees.
