How many functions do MFPs cover?
All-in-one machine, a type of digital instant printer, is simply a machine that combines the functions of faxing, printing and copying. Its image is formed by ink, unlike a copier which is formed by toner. But in operation and appearance, today's MFPs are like a typical copier. The principle of operation of an all-in-one is similar to that of a traditional mimeograph, in that the image is printed on paper by passing ink through tiny holes in the waxed paper (the holes make up the same image as the original). However, its wax paper is not the wax paper or scanning wax paper used on traditional mimeographs, but thermal wax paper, synthesized from a very thin layer of film and cotton wool. As a result, very fine holes are made in these films, which makes it possible to print very fine, high-quality prints.
