What is the general situation of Buyi nationality?

There are about 2.54 million Buyi people. It is mainly distributed in Anshun and Guiyang, two Buyi and Miao autonomous prefectures in southern Guizhou and southwestern Guizhou, and the rest are distributed in southeastern Guizhou, Tongshi, Zunyi, Bijie, Liupanshui Special Zone, Luoping in Yunnan, Ningnan in Sichuan and Huili. Buyi language belongs to the Dai branch of the Zhuang-Dong language family of Sino-Tibetan language family and has three dialect areas. It is generally believed that Buyi nationality is a branch of Baiyue in ancient times, and it is of the same origin as Zhuang nationality. Some people think that the ancestors of Buyi people are related to the ancient Yelang people, or that Buyi people developed from a branch of Baipu. Buyi people are in charge of agriculture. People used to believe in ghosts and gods. Sacrificing ancestors, some people also believed in Catholicism or Christianity in modern times. Buyi people have very rich traditional folk songs.
