Why is the Tanshishan cultural site in Fuzhou called the birthplace of Fujian civilization?

Tanshishan Cultural Site is located in TanShi Cun, Sugarcane Street, Minhou County, Fujian Province. It was discovered in January, 1954, and was excavated for 8 times, with an excavation area of 2, square meters. * * * 89 tombs, 9 pottery kilns and 2 trenches were found, and a large number of pottery, stone tools, bones and jade articles were unearthed. Tanshishan culture, named after Tanshishan site, is distributed in the lower reaches of Minjiang River and directly reaches the coastal areas. It has distinctive marine cultural characteristics and is the source of marine culture on both sides of Fujian and Taiwan in the pre-Qin period.

Tanshishan cultural site is basically a cemetery of the Gong clan in the late primitive society 4~5 years ago, on which the cultural relics of Huangtulun more than 3 years ago are stacked. In 21, Tanshishan Site was announced by the State Council as a national key cultural relic protection unit.

The Tanshishan cultural site reveals the social consciousness of Tanshishan people, the origin of Tanshishan culture and its close connection with the Neolithic culture across the Taiwan Strait, and reflects the position of Tanshishan culture in China's Neolithic culture, leaving an indelible mark on Fujian's Fujian-Vietnam culture, which is of great significance to the study of cultural exchanges between the two sides of the prehistoric Taiwan Strait, the origin of ancient cultures between Fujian and Taiwan and the origin of Austronesian languages. On October 18th, 221, Tanshishan Site in Minhou, Fujian was selected as one of the "Top 1 Archaeological Discoveries in a Hundred Years" in China.
