Who created the "flying white book" in calligraphy?
Cai Yong, a famous writer and calligrapher in the Eastern Han Dynasty, was the father of talented woman Cai Wenji. The officer who arrived at the corps commander was called "Cai Zhonglang".
Because some strokes are like bird's-head swallowtail, bird's-head phoenix tail, the horizontal and vertical strokes are all white, and the flying pen is white and moist, like a dry pen, so it is called "flying white book".
"The Book of Bofei" requires a clear distinction between black and white in pen and ink, and a wavy flying posture in form to reflect "flying". The biggest and most obvious feature of Bofei's book is that all its stippling is in white handwriting. In the form of line drawing, since the white character has both "flying" and "white", it should have both factors.

The origin of Shu:
During Xi Pingnian in the Eastern Han Dynasty, the emperor ordered Cai Yong to write an imperial edict, and then he went to Hongdumen and the Royal Library.
Unfortunately, on this day, Hongdumen was just repairing the interior, and the bright red palace door was closed. I saw a craftsman painting the palace wall with a broom dipped in lime water. Because the broom is too big and the lime water is thick, the painted wall is black and white and looks uncomfortable.
When Cai Yong saw this, his heart did not move. He believes that in the past, writing was mostly done with pens dipped in ink, and the strokes were pure black. Wouldn't the whole word look more vivid and natural if we could learn from the principle of craftsmen painting walls and let the black strokes reveal some paper or silk background?
When he got home, he quickly found some bamboo, cut it into thin strips and tied it together according to the style of broom to make a flat bamboo pen. Then I dipped in thick ink, and the pen was faster. After several engraving exercises, I finally created this white book with a hint of white dots.
