Qingyang Customs and Traditions
Long Opera Long opera is an emerging local opera genre in Gansu Province. Its predecessor is the Longdong Daoxiang (陇东道情) that circulated in the Huanjiang area of Huanxian County in Gansu Province. The exact age of Longdong Daoxiang has not been investigated. According to the memory of the old artists, the first to the Daoxiang tunes for shadow singing, is Geng Bay, Huanxian shadow artist Xie Changchun (1843-1916). Long Opera is gradually established on the basis of Longdong Daoxiang through inheritance, collation, development and innovation; and the artistic characteristics of Longdong Daoxiang are mainly manifested in its music, which basically belongs to the board cavity. Its singing rap nature is strong, local music and language characteristics of the rich; over the door is relatively flat, not much change; tune is high and simple, cheerful and bright. The instruments used in Long Opera also have a greater development, increased pipa, erhu, sheng, banhu, yangqin, violin and some brass and woodwind instruments, enriching the expressive power of Long Opera music. Long Opera also attaches great importance to creating and accumulating its own repertoire. Has accumulated a number of popular for the masses, "Feng Luo Chi", "jing table record", "grassland early spring", "fake son-in-law ride the dragon" and other reserved programs.
