L4 level self-driving capability! Yutong's driverless bus "Xiaoyu" is photographed

A few days ago, a small number of ruffled car met with the L4 level of self-driving ability of the Yutong "Xiaoyu" test car, and brought you a set of live shots.

Yutong "Xiaoyu" is a purely electric driverless bus, which officials say is basically able to meet the L4 level of autonomous driving standards, so there is no driver's seat in the car, which relies entirely on the vehicle's cameras/sensors and the 5G network to realize autonomous driving.

In terms of appearance, Yutong's "Xiaoyu" is very cute, with swinging doors and low ground clearance, making it easy for passengers to get in and out of the car. Because it is an autonomous vehicle, "Xiaoyu" is not equipped with external mirrors, instead of a similar sensor module. The wheels also have a low wind resistance shape, a common design language for new energy vehicles.

In the front, "Xiaoyu" adopts an eagle-eye-like headlight design, with a sharp visual effect. Four radars can be clearly seen in the lower enclosure, but it looks like they should be ordinary parking assist radars.

There is also an obvious bulge in the center of the grille, due to the lack of relevant information, so for the time being unable to determine its specific role, presumably it should be millimeter-wave radar as well as laser sensors and other modules.

Seating-wise, the Xiaoyu's interior features a "4+2+4" ten-seat layout, and there's plenty of legroom. With a length of less than 6 meters, this layout is possible, and there's no doubt that the auto-pilot capability is a big contributor, as there's no need for a driver's seat.

But a smaller steering wheel is still provided, presumably for testing purposes.

Publicly available information shows that Xiaoyu is mainly used for small-area shuttling, but it can also be used as an online car.
