The two religions have different origins, why are Buddhist precepts and Taoist precepts exactly the same?

We all know that Buddhism and Taoism have had much friction in the course of their historical development, and their teachings are not the same, but those who have a good understanding of Buddhism and Taoism will find that there are some Buddhist and Taoist precepts that are exactly the same, so what is the reason for this?

These precepts are called the Five Precepts of Laojun in Taoism and the Four Basic Precepts of Discipleship in Buddhism, and they are all the same: no stealing, no killing, no drinking, no delusional speech, and no sexual intercourse.

So why did these two completely different religions develop the same precepts? In fact, a careful observer will find that this precept applies to those who have just started or have religious beliefs and have just converted. In fact, no matter whether it is Buddhism or Taoism, both of them increase the number of precepts with the length of time of cultivation, the longer the time of cultivation, the more precepts people have to observe accordingly.

And the basic precepts are often to make you become a person of good character as a starting point, so the two religions in the basic precepts will be the same, because whether it is Buddhism or Taoism in your formal monk before, is to examine your moral character, if you are not a good person, like to do evil, then whether it is the Buddhist or Taoist will not accept you.

So when we are discussing a religion, we can't be detached from the individual human being, only after being a person of good character first, can we be a practitioner with stricter behavior and conduct.
