Introduction to Qufu
Qufu is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Shandong Province, which is managed by Jining City. Confucius' hometown is the hometown of Huangdi, the old capital of Shennong, the old country of Shang and Yin, and the capital of Zhou and Han Dynasties. It is an important birthplace of oriental culture, known as the "Holy City of the East" and also known as "Oriental Jerusalem". Located in the southwest of Shandong Province, it is 35 km away from the provincial capital Jinan/KLOC-0 in the north, near Surabaya in the east, Yanzhou in the west, Zoucheng in the south and Taishan in the north. It governs 8 towns, 4 streets and 457 villages with a total area of 8 15km.
Qufu is a traditional agricultural production area. Since ancient times, frugal folk customs have been prominent. Among them, the famous "Confucius Cuisine" originated from Confucius House, the home of saints. Because of its special status, it has formed a unique style in daily diet and banquet dishes, and has become a typical representative of official dishes in China. Qufu folk staple foods include pancakes, sweet potatoes, steamed bread, Wo Wo, paper, steamed buns, jiaozi, cakes, etc., while non-staple foods include pickles, bean products, vegetable tofu, steamed vegetables, etc. Residents have the habit of eating and drinking soup.
