In order to travel conveniently, Bianshao selected the best stations of the two lines for you to introduce, keep up the pace, set off together~

Xi'an

The departure station of the train is Xi'anan, the ancient capital of the thirteenth dynasty of China, where a rich history and culture have been accumulated. While trying to read the city's historical narrative, don't forget to enjoy life's relaxing pleasures such as food and entertainment.

The world-famous Shaanxi History Museum is naturally the highlight of your Xi'an trip, but if you're unfortunate enough not to have booked tickets, move back to the square. Xi'anan's rich history also accumulates here, and you can also sample local specialties.

The simple word "Hui Square" condenses the two highlights of the place. The "Hui" ethnic halal cuisine allows locals to meet here and satisfy their cravings, with lamb buns and iron barbecue making them hungry; and several mosques, which are rare survivors of traditional Chinese architecture in the ancient walled city, where the sound of chanting during worship creates a precious world of purity.

The "Fang" street structure is thought to follow the Fangli system that characterized Chang'an during the Tang Dynasty thousands of years ago. You may want to leave the shoulder-to-shoulder tourist areas and delve into the secluded hutongs to explore. When you have enough time, you can stroll back to the square and visit the mosque. There are also Buddhist temples, Taoist temples and Confucian mansions to switch your cultural channel.

When you came to Baoji from 010 to 1010, you not only walked the last section of the 800-mile Qin River, but you also went back hundreds of years. Therefore, compared to Xi'an, Xianyang and Weinan in the east, Baoji in the western Guanxi region is more "ancient" in all aspects. Western tastes are more traditional, sour and spicy snacks and hot liquor have a simple but extreme pleasure.

In terms of folklore, the mud sculptures, shadow puppets, social fires, and temple fairs of the western provinces also have a more "rustic" feel. Even some of Baoji's cultural attractions can be traced back to the older pre-Qin and Bronze Ages. However, Baoji is still not a traditional tourist destination. Apart from the Famen Temple and Mount Taibai, most of the tourists visiting Baoji come from Xi'an and its neighboring areas. Because of this, Baoji may bring far more surprises than you expect.

Special Suggestions

Baoji Bronze Museum. Baoji was the site of the Zhou Dynasty, and an important element of the rites made by the Duke of Zhou was to specify the specifications of various bronze ritual objects. As a result, many national treasures from the Bronze Age have been unearthed here, including the Wang Li Gui Lake, the Qiang Pan and the He Zun.

Baoji

Leaving Shaanxi, the train enters Gansu, where the first stop is Tianshui. Today, people are used to equate Tianshui with the Maijishan Grottoes. In fact, 8,000 years ago, the Earth Bay ancestors settled in Tianshui, from the pre-Qin began to build the city has been 2,700 years, staged the Three Kingdoms finale drama "Zhu Geliang six out of Qishan" in the "pick up Jiang Wei" "lost Jiejieting" allusion to both the city and the surrounding counties, are The city and the surrounding counties, have a great deal to see.

As a center for the spread of Buddhist culture in Longyi, hidden behind the Maiji Mountain Rasho Temple, Muti Temple, Gangu Xiangshan is also very valuable. The ancient trees and buildings everywhere in the city, the ancient legends about Fuxi, the sacrificial rituals that have lasted for thousands of years, and the sounds of the West Qin dialect that you can hear in your ears without realizing it are all breathtaking. The city has never cut off its history.

Don't miss

There's a small Maiji Mountain post office next to the Maiji Mountain Grottoes automated ticket office on the tour bus. It sells a beautiful series of postcards of the Maijishan Grottoes (5 yuan each, including stamps), some of which are photos of special caves. Stamps mailed here are postmarked with the Maiji Mountain commemorative postmark.

Tianshui

Continuing on our journey, we came to Lanzhou, a major town in the northwest. If you put a ruler across a map of China, Lanzhou is unbiased and centered. It hugs the vast western provinces. In ancient times, it was on the important passage from Chang'an to and from the western regions, so it was a natural Silk Road town that "blocked the Central Plains and contacted the western regions".

As soon as the rushing Yellow River enters Lanzhou, it becomes gentle, just as the city's simple, rugged exterior is full of tenderness, and the chili oil in the beef noodles is just scary.

There are more feelings than real scenes in Lanzhou. Stroll through China's tourist icon "Riding the Flying Swallow", take a ride on a sheepskin raft that "goes with the flow", try a bowl of authentic beef noodles, and then head to the hot night market for a good time.

Don't miss it

The Mogao Grottoes are undoubtedly the most famous site in Gansu province, but regardless of off-season tourist crowds and dim lighting, it's hard to take in the details of the murals and statues in meditation. The Dunhuang Art Museum, located in the Lanzhou branch of the Dunhuang Research Institute, distills the essence of Mogao Cave art through digital multimedia and modern high-tech methods, including the most iconic frescoes and special caves that cost extra to visit. Best of all, it's free.

Lanzhou

Leaving Lanzhou, the Mercedes-Benz train on the Lanzhou-New Zealand Railway line makes a brief foray into Qinghai. There's Xining, the largest city on the Tibetan Plateau, where the southern Silk Road passes through the ancient Tangfan Road. In the competition and integration between the plateau's nomadic peoples and the farming regions of the central plains, Xining has had the good fortune of "peace in the west" and has embraced religions and cultures from both the east and west.

Today's travelers come here, and they no longer have to make long journeys. The Lanxin bullet train arrives at dusk. After crossing the city of Xining and the Tal Temple on the outskirts of the city, why not go to the Yellow Water Valley in Haidong and experience the charming scenery and ethnic customs there. If you are lucky enough to join the local crowds of worshippers, prayers, chanting and pilgrims, it will be a journey that will touch your soul even more.

Breakfast on the streets of Xining

When you come to Xining, you don't have to worry about the buffet breakfast provided by the hotel. Wake up early and eat at the street stores like the locals. In addition to beef noodles, Xining people like breakfast with a combination of soup noodles and buns, chowder soup and white noodle buns, lamb sausage noodles and mutton soup. Sweet and nutritious milk custard is also a local specialty. Some of the small stores have a worrying environment but are authentic in flavor and affordable, so it's best to get there early to avoid a flutter.

010 to 10:10, the train over the Qilian Mountains, out of Qinghai. The train came back to the land of Gansu. If the train ends at Dunhuang, the first stop will be Zhangye. After arriving at Zhangye, you may want to make Zhangye's Danxia World Geopark the first stop on your journey. It is very convenient to go to the Geopark from Zhangye by public ****car. It takes just over an hour to say goodbye to the city and go for a feast of colors.

From the Colorful Danxia Scenic Spot, drive about 10 kilometers to Sunan, and you'll arrive at the Binggou Danxia Scenic Spot. Although not as colorful as the colorful Danxia, the Danxia landforms here are even more varied, adding a lot of magnificence and grandeur. Among them, the window lattice-like palace-style Danxia is unique to the Zhangye area.

Photography

The colorful Danxia is irresistible, and its most brilliant colors appear at sunrise and sunset after a rainy day. In addition to higher color saturation, lower color temperatures add more warmth to the red Danxia. If it snows in winter, you can still capture the beauty of colorful sunlight and snow-capped dark side after clearing. Try to avoid taking photos in direct sunlight at noon, because the light to dark ratio is too large, the photos will lose the richness of the layers. If the weather is not good, carry polarized lenses or gray gradient lenses can maximize the sky to make up for the lack of, you can shoot a rare "green" Danxia.

Xining

If your train doesn't stop at Zhangye and you don't want to miss out on the vastness of the Hexi Corridor, you might want to consider making a short stop at Jiayuguan. The city of Jiayuguan on the Gobi Beach is full of desert air. There are open views of the Qilian snow-capped peaks and open vistas for pedestrians.

Jiayuguan is here to guard the westernmost point of the Ming Great Wall. This young "world's highest point" is well preserved and listed as a World Heritage Site. When you climb up to the wall, the defense system of "open wall and dark wall" will be clearly shown in front of your eyes. If you are good enough, you can experience a walk on the Great Wall through the Hexi Corridor.

The Great Wall of Han, built by Emperor Wu after he conquered the Western Regions, is still preserved along the western border of Dunhuang. In Shandan, the Han and Ming Great Walls stretch nearly 200 kilometers in parallel. At this open-air Great Wall museum, you can take a ride along the way to admire it, or hike in and climb the Han Dynasty beacon tower to get a far-reaching view of a pair of Han and Ming Great Walls separated by 1,000 years.

Wild Activities

The strong thermal updrafts, wavy and powered air currents at Jiayuguan are very conducive to gliding. Viewing the whole Jiayuguan Pass from the air is also the best way to experience this ancient pass. The gliding clubs in Jiayuguan have outlets in Guancheng, Jiayuguan, the first pier of the Great Wall and other attractions. It is open from May to October every year, and the best season is July to August. There are tandem power paragliding and delta wing (5-20 minutes, price 280-1080 RMB/person), or you can choose to take a hot air balloon tour (500-600 RMB/person, 40 minutes), 2 at a time. There are instructors to guide and accompany the flight throughout.

Zhangye

The Xi'an-Dunhuang line terminal has arrived. As the gateway to the eastward spread of Buddhism, the grottoes in the Dunhuang area were at the forefront of the art of the western and central plains. These grottoes, thousands of years old, record the change of dynasties, the changes in people's aesthetics and beliefs, and even the history of Chinese art that has never survived on paper.

The complete art of Dunhuang is not limited to the Mogao Grottoes. The artistic peak of the Yulin Grottoes made up for the lonely period after the Western Xia of the Mogao Grottoes. The Thousand Buddha Caves are equally important in history. Although the number of remains is not as large as that of the Thousand Buddha Caves, the level is comparable.

There is a saying that everyone can get what they want at Dunhuang: painting enthusiasts can find the legacy of Chinese ink painting, architecture lovers can restore the pavilions and temples of the Tang Dynasty, fashion bloggers can find inspiration in clothing and makeup, and paragraph writers use their brain holes to discover the secular life of the ancients .

010 to 10:10, the train to Urumqi continues to fly on China's great northwest, the first stop after entering Xinjiang is Hami. After arriving in Hami, spend half a day to see the Mukam Heritage Center, Hami Wang Hui Tomb, Hami Wang Hui House, all in the south of the city, not far from each other. Go to the Grand Cross Tourist Commercial Street and have dinner at the Zhongshan Road Night Market across the street and eat and drink like the locals.

If you have enough time, you can also rent a car the next day to wander around Hami. First, you can travel north through the Eastern Tianshan Mountains, visiting Hanqigou, Dabaisi and Mingsha Mountains along the way. On the way back, it is recommended to follow the old highway through the Dongtian Mountains, overlooking the pine forests, grasslands, sand dunes, and snow-capped mountains in the distance from the highest point. In the afternoon, head west to Hami Ghost Town and enjoy the wonders of nature in the Ya'egg Landform Complex. Don't worry about the lack of time. Sunset in Xinjiang is 2 hours later than inland, and 8pm is the best time to photograph the sunset in Ghost Town.

Jiayuguan Pass

Tulufan is the penultimate stop on this trip. The Flaming Mountains and Grapevine are famous attractions. Jiaoha Ancient Town and Gaochang Ancient Town are important sites on the Silk Road. These attractions can basically be covered in one day by car. Baizihe Street in the city is a famous food street in Turpan, where you can taste some local delicacies, such as bean noodles, big plate of fighting chicken, and raisin scratched rice.

Turpan was one of the three major Buddhist centers in the western region before the 14th century, and Jiaoha and Gaochang witnessed the rise and fall of the Silk Road. In Jiaoha's Old Town, a labyrinth of alleys strings together a dense collection of homes, official residences and Buddhist temple ruins. Sometimes you have to walk down the stairs to see the underground rooms.

Around Turpan

Baizkelik Grottoes, Baizkelik means "mountainside" in Uyghur, and the entire grotto is cut into the side of the Flaming Mountain. It was once one of the most important and beautiful grottoes on the Silk Road,

Dunhuang

The final destination is Urumqi. Shedding its millennia-old simplicity, Urumqi is now a modern international city in Central Asia. It is also a vibrant "hybrid" city. Red-walled and green-tiled mosques, similar to Han Chinese palaces, stand among the skyscrapers. The alleys of Erdaoqiao are filled with cheerful shouts and the smell of mutton and barbecue meat. The International Grand Bazaar is crowded with tourists from home and abroad, picking up a wealth of products from all over Asia and Europe .

There aren't many attractions in and around the city, but the Autonomous Region Museum (currently under renovation) with its large collection of precious Silk Road artifacts, the Erdao Bridge where ethnic minorities live, the wide variety of ethnic food available everywhere, and a few pubs with good music will give you a taste of Urumqi's lively atmosphere.

Tianshan Tianchi, rumored to be the Yaochi where King Mu of Zhou went down to the West Ocean to pay his respects to the Queen Mother of the West, is Tianshan Tianchi. This alpine lake is more than 1,900 meters above sea level, leaning on the mountainside of Bogda Peak. Together with Bogda Peak, there are two other peaks over 5000 meters above sea level. The three snowy peaks are reflected in the turquoise lake, which makes the scenery breathtaking. Tianchi is a collection of high mountains melting snow in one, the lake water is clear. The summer scenery is the most beautiful, green grass, wildflowers everywhere, the lake side of the cattle and sheep into flocks. Kazakhs have been grazing here for generations. In winter, tourists are rare, snow-covered, frozen on the lake Tianchi seems to be isolated from the world, more mysterious and quiet.
