Basic footwork of dance
1, stop: stop is one of the most basic footwork in dance and the starting point of other footwork. When stopping, the dancers put their feet together, their hands droop naturally, their bodies stay straight and their eyes are fixed on the front. Standing posture should be stable and stretching, reflecting the dancer's temperament and image.
2. Forward: Forward is the footwork of moving forward on the basis of stopping. The dancer lifts one foot first, then moves forward, and the center of gravity moves forward. Then, the other foot is also lifted forward, and the center of gravity moves again after being put down. Pre-movement should be smooth and coherent, and keep the balance and stability of the body.
3. Backward: Backward is a footwork that moves backwards on the basis of stopping. Contrary to the previous progress, the dancer raises one foot first, then puts it back, and shifts the center of gravity back. Then, the other foot is also raised backward, and the center of gravity moves again after being put down. The backward movement also needs to be smooth and coherent, and pay attention to the balance of the body.
4. Sidestep: Sidestep is a footwork that moves to the left or right. The dancer first takes a small step to the left or right with one foot, and then takes the same distance with the other foot. When walking sideways, the dancer's body should be straight, the center of gravity should be stable, and attention should be paid to the accuracy and rhythm of the steps.
5. Turn around: Turn around is the footwork of the dancer's in-situ rotation. Dancers can choose to turn left or right. When turning around, the dancer first shifts her body weight to one foot, and then the other foot follows her. Turn around lightly and flexibly while maintaining balance and stability.
6. Jumping: Jumping is one of the common movements in dance, which can increase the vitality and tension of dance. When jumping, dancers can choose to jump with one foot or both feet. When jumping on one foot, the dancer first stands on tiptoe with one foot, and then the other foot quickly leaves the ground and falls. When the feet take off, the dancer's feet leave the ground and fall. The jumping action should be strong and rhythmic, while paying attention to the accuracy and balance of landing.
