What are the characteristics of radio communication

Characteristics of broadcast communication:

(1) Broadcasting has a wide range of dissemination, fast dissemination speed and strong penetration ability. Whether it is internal or external broadcasting, this feature is the advantage of broadcasting. But in external communication, this advantage of radio is more prominent.

(2) Radio has a stronger penetrating power than newspapers and television. Therefore, the scope of its reach and the speed of its dissemination of information are far greater than those of newspapers and television. This has long been proved by the practice of international communication.

(3) Radio relies on sound to spread. The charm of sound is that it not only disseminates information, but also incorporates the knowledge of the communicator into such information, thus helping and guiding people to understand and accept the information.

On Christmas Eve, 1906, the American Fessenden and Alexandra Sons set up a radio station near New York and made the first broadcast ever. The broadcast consisted of two jokes, a song and a solo violin piece. This broadcast was clearly heard by people with receivers scattered around at the time.

In 1908, Forrest of the United States made another broadcast from the Eiffel Tower in Paris, which was picked up by all the military radio stations in that area and by an engineer in Marseilles.

In 1916, Forrest broadcast about the presidential election from an experimental radio station in the Bronx newsroom, but only a very small number of people were able to listen to these early broadcasts.
