How is the original painted pottery craft made?

Painted pottery is a kind of pottery painted in black, red or red and black during the prosperity of matriarchal clan commune in the middle and late Neolithic Age. Because it contains iron, it is red, brown or orange after firing. When making, wash clay is selected, and small-scale pottery can be directly molded. Large pottery is made of clay strips, dried and coated with mineral pigments containing iron or manganese, and some are made by adding a layer of white pottery coat before painting and then firing. Painted pottery is a daily storage vessel, and cooking pottery is generally not painted. Painted pottery is the most abundant in Yangshao culture and Majiayao culture in the middle and upper reaches of the Yellow River.
