Is Ankang Xunyang traditional?

When it comes to Shaanxi ancient city, many people will think of Hancheng ancient city or Gaojiabao. In fact, deep in the mountains of Shaanxi, there is an ancient city built on an "island" surrounded by water on three sides. People can open the window and overlook the cliff. In this ancient city, there are many ancient houses, streets and scenic spots in Gu Xiang. Because it has not been developed, even in Shaanxi, few people know it.

This is the ancient town of Xunyang that Huang saw in Xunyang County, Ankang last week.

Speaking of Xunyang, some people who like to travel may have heard that it is a famous "Taiji City" in Shaanxi.

Xunyang is located in the southeast of Shaanxi Province, in the hinterland of Qinba Mountain, with Zhen 'an County of Shangluo City in the north, Baihe County in the east, Pingli County in the south and Ankang City in the west. The county covers a total area of more than 3,500 square kilometers. The Han River runs through the county from east to west, and the Weihe River flows into the Han River from northwest to southeast. The intersection of Weihe River and Hanjiang River is the seat of Xunyang County.

The ancient town of Xunyang that we are going to talk about today is also here.

Xunyang's name comes from Weihe River, and Weihe River also gave Xunyang a big gift. At the final stage of its confluence with the Han River, it suddenly twisted its waist to form an "S"-shaped big bay. The river washes the shallows and cliffs, and the deep valleys cut off the land, which naturally forms the Taiji pattern in Xunyang County.

Among them, the old town of Xunyang is the "yin fish" in Taiji Map.

The ancient town of Xunyang is located on the south bank of Weihe River and the west side of Hanjiang River, which is just in the key position where Weihe River flows into Hanjiang River. For thousands of years, it has enjoyed the geographical advantage of the golden waterway of the Han River, forming a crowded city.

For thousands of years, people have worked hard to develop, build homes, build city-states, connect streets and build houses in this narrow strip above the cliff. Fiona Fang, an island less than two square kilometers, has become a unique "ancient city on the island", with alleys and countless houses extending from south to north and from top to bottom.

In the old city of Xunyang, there are several main streets running through the city, such as artillery house road, Shangcheng street, Xiacheng street and Renmin road. In addition, there are many branch alleys, such as Liu Jiaxiang, Fumin Street and Dongerqi, which form a criss-crossing traffic network.

Among them, Paolou Road and Renmin Road are connected together, forming the "main backbone" of the old city. Both sides of these two roads are also the densest sections of ancient houses in Xunyang ancient town.

Most of these old houses are brick and wood structures, and the side facing the street is mostly wood, which is generally two floors. The bottom floor is mostly wood of the same color, and the upper floor is a low attic, one next to the other, separated by gables.

The side of the gable facing the street is generally painted with powder, which is a bit like Huizhou ancient buildings. Very delicate. It can be seen that this may be the property of the rich in the old society.

There are many well-preserved ancient houses on both sides of the street, and most of them still have households, which still play the role of housing. Along the way, a rough count, at least a dozen or twenty buildings.

Among them, the most "towering" building is "Renmin South Road 128", a three-story ancient building facing the street, with an overall wooden external wall and carved panes, which looks very elegant. Although it is a bit shabby, you can still see the glory of the past, and there are still people living in it now.

In addition to these old streets, Gu Xiang and ancient houses, there are two tourist attractions worth seeing in Xunyang Ancient Town:

One is the west gate of Xunyang County.

Xichengmen was built in the eighth year of Chongzhen in Ming Dynasty (1635) and was renovated in Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty. There are four gates in Xunyang county, east, west, north and south, and there are watchtowers in dangerous places. Now only the West Gate and a section of battlements connected with it are left. This ancient gate is still a passage for people to go in and out.

One is the Xunyang Confucian Temple, which is the Xunyang County Museum.

Xunyang Confucian Temple is located at Yamenkou, opposite the gate of Xunyang Yucai School. It was built in the fifth year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1372). The original site is outside the north gate of the old city, and it was moved here in the eighth year of Chenghua (1472).

This is a well-preserved ancient architectural complex, which rises step by step according to the terrain. There are three courtyards: Lingxingmen, Chi Pan and Dacheng Hall. There is also a Millennium Cooper in the yard, under which there is a stone tablet of Amin Dynasty. It is said that the stone tablet can make a metallic sound when struck with stones, so people call it the "Silver Bronze Monument", which is a great landscape of Xunyang.

There are many cultural relics of Xunyang displayed in the Confucian Temple, including ancient plaques, couplets, cultural relics unearthed in past dynasties and so on.

Because I only stayed for two short hours, some places in the old city of Xunyang may not have moved, and some places may not be explained accurately. Welcome to correct me.
