Does China have Boom 8, Boom 9 or not...?
The Boom-8 strategic bomber was a long-range strategic bomber developed by China in the 1970s. It was planned to be designed and built by Xi'an Aircraft Manufacturing Factory (now AVIC Xi'an Aircraft Industry (Group) Co., Ltd.), using the Boom-6 medium bomber, also built by XAIFI, as the basis for its design. Design work on the aircraft began in 1973, and it was originally scheduled to be finalized in 1979 and enter service with the Chinese Air Force in the 1980s, but was later cancelled due to program adjustments and internal disagreements. No prototypes or engineering samples of the Boom-8 bomber were built until the aircraft ceased development. Now it may be possible to develop it again in secret.
Photos of the so-called Boom-9 stealth hypersonic bomber have been taken again near Yanliang, Shaanxi province. The wings are triangular in shape, with a single-engine engine located underneath the fuselage. The flight noise is very low, and the long jet flame is not visible. It is said that the Chinese Air Force will be equipped with two new types of bombers at the same time, one is the "Boom-8" with a large bomb load and traditional aerodynamic layout, and the other is the "Boom-9", a high-altitude, high-speed bomber with a moderate bomb load and a breakthrough in the traditional aerodynamic layout, which will fly up to 36,000 meters and have a maximum speed of 3,000 m. It is also said to be a stealthy hypersonic bomber. With a flying altitude of 36,000 meters and a maximum speed of Mach 3.7, it can fly higher and faster than most existing fighters and anti-aircraft missiles.
But so far there is no definitive evidence that there is, just online speculation
