The application of bamboo in interior design

Application of bamboo in interior design

Bamboo is a kind of pure natural ecological environment materials have good performance and excellent environmental coordination, less consumption of resources and energy, little pollution to the environment and high recycling utilization, with good design properties and oriental cultural and artistic characteristics. Therefore, bamboo is more and more widely used in all aspects of interior design.

I. Design attributes of bamboo

Bamboo has the advantages of straight texture, light color, light weight, high mechanical strength, good splitting performance, strong bending performance. When the same piece of furniture is made of bamboo, it is lighter than the furniture made of wood, metal and other materials, which makes it easy to be transported. Bamboo is flexible and has good bending performance, which can meet the needs of modeling design. Bamboo material after splitting gabion and become gabion, can be woven into different patterns of plane or fa?ade products, the formation of different texture and texture with the original bamboo material, bamboo material is mostly green, purple-black, brown, natural texture, coupled with the influence of the bamboo culture, making bamboo material has a unique artistry. Bamboo has less environmental energy consumption, can be recycled and lower prices, used in interior design with strong environmental protection and economy.

Two, the application of bamboo

(a) the ground paving materials

Ground treatment in the indoor space occupies a large proportion. Its high frequency of use, large area, coupled with the natural, environmental protection, green concept, people on the ground paving requirements are more stringent. The choice of floor covering materials to consider is its compressive strength, stain resistance and aesthetics. Bamboo flooring is mostly made of moso bamboo, because of its natural texture; color difference, contraction and expansion are smaller than wood flooring; natural hardness is more than twice as high as wood; low thermal conductivity, stepping on the floor in the winter warm and cool in the summer; fragrant smell, safe and environmentally friendly as well as easy to maintain and so on, is favored by the people. However, bamboo flooring is susceptible to sunlight and humidity, the phenomenon of delamination, coupled with the bamboo itself is more prone to mold and insects, therefore, bamboo flooring in the practicality of the research to be further deepened.

(B) wall paving materials

With the ground, the wall in the indoor space occupies a large proportion, how to choose the wall paving materials for the entire space style has a greater impact on the creation. Bamboo is generally in the form of raw bamboo or bamboo veneer as a wall covering material used in interior design. Bamboo veneer is made of bamboo strips glued and pressed or bamboo through the bamboo harvesting, rolling knots, open slice, scraping, splitting gabions, three prevention and coloring through the flat weaving or facade weaving techniques and the formation of the bamboo. In the Dai Bamboo House or specialty restaurants, the entire wall is used or bamboo veneer, and in modern home decoration, is a small area for wall decoration or roof decoration, not only to achieve the effect of sound absorption, acoustic insulation, but also to maintain the indoor temperature, while in the decorative effect to give people a neat and rustic, ethereal and beautiful feeling.

(C) structural, decorative materials

Bamboo mechanical strength and good toughness to meet the use of bamboo as a structural material load-bearing needs, but also to meet the demand for modeling and decoration, the application of its forms are mainly a few:

1.

Different shapes of bamboo screens, partitions can create different interior styles. Comparison of thick bamboo through heating bending, slotting bending and other forms of bamboo bending made of modeling framework, and through the bar butt, nail connection, ten son connection, L word connection, inlay connection, wrapping connection and other ways to connect the bamboo section and the formation of the partition of the rough minerals, simple and suitable for placement in the rustic or modern style of the interior. Bamboo after carving or weaving to form a 'bamboo screen, partition delicate, elegant, suitable for placement in the new Chinese style, Southeast Asian style of the interior, as shown in Figure 1.

2. Bamboo door

Bamboo door is divided into bamboo panel door and bamboo chip door, bamboo panel door is made of bamboo into a plate made of low-carbon, environmentally friendly door, similar to the door with the solid wood door; bamboo chip door is the bamboo branches and bamboo roots, etc., crushed after the compression of the density of the board door. Bamboo doors are generally made of moso bamboo as raw material, which is characterized by no deformation and no cracking, and is equally suitable for humid environments such as bathrooms and kitchens. Through the bamboo structure of variable and rich color treatment, can meet the requirements of different styles of interior design.

3. Bamboo Furniture

Bamboo furniture has been loved by people since the Qing Dynasty because of its moisture and heat absorption, smooth texture, strong toughness and durability. To date, with the improvement of production technology, bamboo furniture varieties have gradually increased. Chairs and stools furniture, bamboo chairs using raw bamboo as the material, the selection of different thicknesses of bamboo tubes, through the baking and bending, drilling, mortise and tenon joints, playing bamboo nails and other production methods combined. Figure 2, bamboo and stainless steel with the use of bamboo chairs to enhance the modern sense. Cabinet furniture, bamboo used in cabinet furniture, the use of raw bamboo splicing, or the use of bamboo strips, bamboo rows of panels, round bamboo slices of bamboo curtain panels, mahjong block panels, knitted panels and other materials used in conjunction with the structural form, and finally round bamboo, bamboo gabion strips and other materials for sealing the edge of the treatment so as to make the lines of the varied, varied styles of the bamboo coffee table, TV cabinets, bookcases, closets, and other furniture.

(D) as decorative furnishings

One of the purposes of interior furnishings is to meet the aesthetic needs of people, the key to the design lies in the treatment of the details, the unity of the two is the design of interior furnishings. Bamboo furnishings are mainly: bamboo carving crafts, bamboo crafts, bamboo lamps and so on.

1. Bamboo carving crafts

Bamboo carving crafts have been formed during the Shang Dynasty and Zhou Dynasty, and gradually moving towards the peak. Bamboo carving in the arts and crafts in the subject matter is very rich, often with the help of good luck, fortune, longevity, plum, orchids, bamboo, chrysanthemums and Chinese traditional patterns, landscapes and other connotations to convey the bamboo culture. The bamboo carving of Shaoyang in Hunan Province, Huangyan in Zhejiang Province and Jiang'an in Sichuan Province is a characteristic and exquisite carving method in the art of bamboo carving. The carving formed on the yellow of the bamboo is close to ivory in color, and the color is warm and moist. The color of the bamboo carving is close to ivory and the color is warm. Bamboo brush holders, incense burners, fan bones and decorative ornaments can be seen everywhere in the interior. Figure 3 is the work of Luo Qisong, a master bamboo carver of the flip spring, "The Drunkenness of the Concubine".

2. Bamboo Woven Crafts

Bamboo Woven Crafts is a decorative artifacts formed after the main raw materials of Nanzhu, Cizhu and other bamboo are harvested, rolled and sliced, scraped and divided into gimlets, three anti-dyeing, dyeing, and weaving processes. As early as in the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, the art of bamboo weaving has reached a very high level of skill. Nowadays, bamboo mats, tissue boxes, crafted fruit pots (as shown in Figure 4), bamboo baskets and a variety of small crafts are widely used in interior design.

3. Bamboo Lamps

In the design of lamps, bamboo is more often used in the production of lamp brackets and lampshades. General selection of 5-year-old bamboo, after cutting, opening, drying, milling, grinding, embryo, lacquer and other processes after molding bamboo lamps. Bamboo's mechanical strength, can meet the mechanical requirements of bamboo as a lamp bracket. Bamboo is soft and can be bent into different shapes to meet the modeling needs of lamps. The light transmittance of the bamboo woven lampshade can be adjusted according to the use of demand to adjust the weaving method, so as to meet the lighting needs and create the effect of spatial atmosphere. The bamboo lamps shown in Figure 5 are made of raw bamboo material with modern styling, which conveys the texture of natural ecological materials and meets the modern aesthetic requirements.

Three, Summary

Interior design is originally a combination of culture and design behavior, bamboo in the technical, artistic, and economic are better in line with the requirements of modern design, bamboo culture as a branch of culture, enriching the artistic expression of design works. The combination of the natural properties of bamboo material and modern technology technically makes up for the natural defects of bamboo material which is prone to decay, mildew and insects, and at the same time, the unique texture and color of bamboo material also bring the design works closer to nature. Material innovation is the driving force behind the reform and development of the interior, the embodiment of the natural properties of the material is also one of the human-centered manifestations, therefore, bamboo is increasingly being utilized in all aspects of interior design, but also a good interpretation of the concept of green environmental protection and human-centered.
