Brief introduction of Yiyang ancient painting and drama

There are 16 local operas in Hunan, including 8 local operas, namely Changsha Opera, Changde Opera (Keke Opera), Yueyang Opera (also known as Violin Opera and Wengqin Opera), Hengzhou Opera, Shaoyang Opera, Yongzhou Opera, Yangxi Opera and Lantern Festival. According to the standard of stage language, Yiyang ancient painting drama and Yiyang ancient painting drama belong to Changsha ancient painting drama. Because of the differences in tunes and repertoires, Changsha ancient painting plays are divided into five artistic schools (commonly known as Taoism), namely Yiyang Taoism, Xihu Taoism, Ningxiang Taoism, Xiangyi Taoism and Changsha Taoism. Due to historical reasons, Yiyang has four major art schools except Changsha Road, with numerous flower drums and different styles. So Yiyang is called "Flower Drum Wozi". Yiyang ancient painting drama originated from local Han folk songs, labor songs, Sixian and folk songs. Formed a part of Yiyang Flower Drum, which is a duet, also called duet. It used to be ugly, and later it was joined by Xiao Sheng to form three plays. During the Republic of China, some performed on the same stage with local xiang opera classes, absorbing xiang opera's performances, programs, gongs and drums, and some tunes and repertoires, forming a formal drama.
