The source of collective memory

The concept of collective memory was originally put forward by Maurice Halbwachs, and it has been studied and expanded from different angles:

James E. Young put forward the concept of "collective memory" as opposed to collective memory, pointing out that the essence of memory is scattered and incomplete, which needs to be collected and varies from person to person. Assmann developed "transitive memory", which is a branch of collective memory based on daily communication. This form of memory is similar to the memory in oral culture, which is collected from the process of oral history and becomes a "collective"; Assmann also put forward other forms of collective memory, that is, it can be separated from the daily life area, materialized and fixed, such as words and memorial buildings.
