Shazhou Village belongs to Wenming Township, Rucheng County, Hunan Province.

It is located more than 50 kilometers west of Rucheng County. The village has a total area of 0.92 square kilometers.

In November 2016, Shazhou Village was included in the fourth batch of Chinese traditional villages list by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China, etc. On December 12, 2019, Shazhou Village was selected as one of the list of "China's Beautiful Leisure Villages in 2019".

On December 31, 2019, it was named the third batch of "Chinese Minority Characteristic Villages" by the National People's Committee.

Shazhou Red Scenic Spot is centered on Shazhou Village, covering Xiushui Village, Hantian Village and Wenshi Village.
