Disciple's Rules [Editorial] Overview: The book "Disciple's Rules" is second only to the Three Character Classic in terms of its influence and the extent to which it has been read and recited. "Disciple" refers to the disciples of all the sages, "rules" "Fu see" means the insight of the great man. So it is something that everyone, everyone who studies the classics of the sages and emulates the sages should learn. If you don't do it in the Discipleship Rules, it's hard to get the true wisdom by studying other classics.

The original name of the Discipline of the Disciples was "The Discipline of the Monks," and its original author, Li Yuxiu (1662-1722 A.D.), was a scholar during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. It is centered on the Analects of Confucius, the Book of Learning, and the Disciple's Rules of Filial Piety, Fraternal Obedience, Honesty and Faith, Universal Love, and Kindness, as well as the Book of Disciple's Discipleship. Divided into five parts, it specifically lists the rules and norms that disciples should abide by at home, outside the home, treating others, accepting things and studying. Later in the Qing Dynasty, Jia Cunren revised and adapted the "training of the text", and renamed the "disciple rules", is the best reading material to enlighten and educate the children of the dunlun dutifully to prevent evil and save the sincerity of the family style of loyalty and generosity.

Though the ancestors are far away, the sacrifices must not be insincere. The reason for this is the fact that the public security system has been corrupted by the abolition of the scriptures and the abolition of the family. The reason for the fall of the people's hearts is that the people are so angry, so stupid, so slow, that they want to bring peace to the world and have to start from the root. The only way to save the tide of crime is to teach Confucianism and filial piety. Mistaking the root for the branch, recognizing the branch as the root. In order to solve the problem, but instead create problems. The only thing that a gentleman can do is to take care of his own business, and this business will bring peace to the country.

The common saying: "teach children the first child, teach women to the first", children's nature is not tainted before, good words easy to enter; pre-disposition, and its long and not easy to change; therefore, the goodness of the heart, confidence, must be cultivated at an early age; all parents, in their children's infancy, that is, should be taught to read and recite the classics in order to cultivate the fundamental wisdom and determination; more to understand the theory of karma, dunlun dibun; if you do not teach at an early age, to be their grown up

The Three Character Classic says: "Raise not teach, the father's fault; teaching is not strict, the teacher's laziness. Nowadays, teaching is bad because of its variety and diversity, and it does not emphasize on cause and effect morality and the cultivation of students' ability to read and learn the scriptures, which has led to today's bitter consequences. I hope that the wise parents and teachers will realize the purpose of this; this is the lifeblood of Chinese culture, and the key to whether the Chinese children can enjoy peace and prosperity, and those who have a discerning eye should see this.

The universality of the Disciple's Rules

Those who support the idea that the Disciple's Rules should become a moral subsidy for schoolchildren may not have collected and compared the existing monastic readings extensively. For example, the men and women who avoided the Qin dynasty in "The Story of the Peach Blossom Garden" were unaware of the passage of time and the situation outside, and produced the result of "not knowing that there is a Han dynasty, regardless of the Wei and Jin dynasties".

Since the Ming and Qing dynasties, if there is a dragon and tiger list of monastic reading materials, then the top three should be the so-called "three, one hundred, one thousand", that is, the "Three Character Classic", "One Hundred Surnames" and "One Thousand Character Classic". And a set of "Traditional Montessori Series" published by Hong Kong's Tiandi Book Company in 2003, the whole collection **** has ten, namely, the Hundred Surnames, Thousand Character Essay, Five Characters, Three Character Classic, Qionglin of Early Learning, Thousand Poems, Sound and Rhythm Enlightenment, Longwen Whip Shadow, Zengguang Xianwen and Three Hundred Pieces of Tang Poetry.

Some people think the reason why "Disciple's Rules" didn't make the list is probably because it was described in the poem as "a little less literary, a little less elegant," plus a lot of feudal dross.

Some people have praised the Thousand Character Classic: "It is not easy to use only a thousand characters, basically without repetition, four characters in a sentence, each sentence forming a text, coherent, and rhyming. Its content includes various social and cultural activities such as heaven and earth, history, personnel, cultivation, reading, food, living, farming, gardening, and rituals ...... still has its positive significance even today."

The "Disciple's Rules" is the opposite, neither rhyming nor rhyming, there is no word for word, it is a very rough text, and the content is like a "disciplinary guidebook", which will not have any aesthetic gain after reading.
