Manufacturing technology of blue and white porcelain

Blue and white porcelain is one of the traditional ceramic molding processes in Jingdezhen. It is widely used in daily-use porcelain by drawing the blank into a rough shape by hand with a pottery cart and then making it into a regular shape with a pottery model. The production process is as follows:

1, scouring tire soil

Porcelain is made of porcelain clay, that is, kaolin. Natural porcelain clay contains many impurities, and most of them need to be washed out, so the fired porcelain will be delicate and white.

2. Embryo production

Make the washed porcelain clay into various shapes, leave it for a period of time, and naturally dry it in the shade. Then, the semi-dry blank is placed on a local abrasive tool and patted by hand to make the blank evenly knotted, and the printed blank is further refined, so that the surface of the blank is smooth and the shape is round.

Step 3 paint

After drying, use blue and white materials to draw patterns on the surface of porcelain.

Step 4 cover glaze

Generally, a layer of glaze water is covered on the porcelain blank by gluing, brushing, dipping and blowing.

5, firing

After the glazed porcelain blank is fired at high temperature, the blue and white materials under the glaze will show beautiful blue. If the blue and white materials are not glazed, the pattern on the surface of the porcelain after firing is brown instead of blue.
