Meilian was so anxious that he went to the Buddha, who said: on the 15th day of the 7th month, when the monks' summer resting place is over, prepare the five flavors and fruits and offer them to the great virtues of the ten directions. The mother of Meguron was indeed free from the hungry ghosts.

Then it became a ritual for Buddhist disciples to hold on July 15 every year, and the "Jingchu Youshi Ji" recorded that on July 15, monks, nuns, Taoists and laypeople all camped out in pots for the Buddhas. Later, the Bon Festival became a Buddhist, Taoist and Confucian **** with the festival.
