Why is Wenzhou's traditional business district deserted?
Yesterday, the Research Office of Wenzhou Municipal People's Government released a government survey, which analyzed the general puzzles encountered by Wenzhou's traditional business districts, and compared the booming business in Taiwan Province's traditional business districts with the neglect of Wenzhou, which was regrettable and disturbing.
At present, many shops such as Nanmen, Wuma Street, Renmin Road and Fu Qian Street in Wenzhou traditional business district are vacant; Some seemingly lively shops are actually just scraping by. A boss named Ahua told us that clothing business is difficult to do, shoes are difficult to sell, glasses are difficult to sell, bags are difficult to sell, and gold is difficult to sell. Only by eating this popular business can we show a little vitality in these neighborhoods.
In view of the strong consumption power of Wenzhou people, as early as a decade ago, the Wenzhou municipal government made great efforts to make Wenzhou a "shopping paradise", but after more than a decade, this "paradise" has still not been built: on the one hand, large shopping malls located in the golden commercial street, such as Lu Dan Plaza, United Department Store and Dynamic Front Line, closed down one by one; On the other hand, Yintai Department Store and Times Square, which are regarded as the most representative in Wenzhou at present, account for about 40% of domestic brands and less than 5% of international first-line brands, making wealthy Wenzhou people go shopping in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Beijing and even Hong Kong, Paris, Tokyo, Seoul and Singapore. The low grade, poor quality and lack of individuality in traditional business districts are the important reasons for the continuous loss and gradual decline of customers in these business districts.
Researchers in the research office of Wenzhou municipal government pointed out that the lack of obvious characteristics and personality, so that "one thousand shops have one side", is a major problem in traditional blocks; It is the second biggest regret to spend huge sums of money on transformation and failure. Xinhe Street, a well-known commercial street in Wenzhou, was transformed into an "empty street". The transformation of Wuma Street now seems to be a failure. The third is the lack of public facilities and traffic congestion in traditional blocks, which is also one of the obstacles for these blocks to exert their fists and win new life. With the advent of the Internet era, online stores have entered the depths of people's daily lives, and the traditional business circle as a whole has been impacted, which makes some business households who are content with the status quo very helpless. The decline of traditional commercial streets in Wenzhou has warned businessmen all over the country in many ways.
When it comes to Wenzhou people's spending power, businessmen all over the world are impressed and excited.
For Wenzhou, which is deeply mired in economic downturn and retrogression, it is a selling point and an exciting topic to do a good job in the commercial service industry, and use it as a starting point to expand domestic demand and earn enough money from Wenzhou people's own pockets. (Wu)
