Evolution [edit]

The harp appeared in the murals of ancient Egypt.

Harp has been found in all ancient civilizations, and its origin has been difficult to trace, but it is generally believed that its inspiration evolved from bow. The earliest records can be traced back to Mesopotamia at least 3500 BC. In the Sumerian city of Ur, modern archaeologists excavated some ancient harps from burial pits and royal tombs.

Ancient Egypt regarded the harp as a sacred instrument and used it in religious ceremonies. Later, this ancient musical instrument was introduced to Europe, America and Asia. The Bible also records that King David played the harp. In Europe, the harp first appeared in Ireland. Anyway, the harp was quite popular about 1000 years ago.

In the Middle Ages, Budd used a harp called Badik, which became popular all over Europe. However, until17th century in Europe, the harp was still not fully developed. 1720, Jacob Hochbrucker of Germany designed a harp with five pedals to control the hook. 18 10, French piano manufacturer Ayral (Sébastien? Rard) invented the modern pedal harp. Then in 1897, another Frenchman also invented the semitone harp. Harp became popular in France and became one of the orchestral plucked instruments. Harp Music Competition: France is the first country to hold a harp music competition, and Israel is the first country to hold a world music harp competition.

Category [edit]

The harp is roughly in the shape of a triangular bow, and the early harp had only a few strings arranged according to the natural scale. Since then, the number of strings has increased, and * * * boxes have been set up to make the appearance lines gorgeous and beautiful. One end of the strings of the harp is connected with the body (* * * sound box) at a certain angle. Now its types can be roughly divided into:

Latin style: the most primitive harp, unable to change the tonality.

Irish style: There are the most kinds and styles, and the tonality can be changed manually.

Pedal type: 47 strings of different lengths are pulled to the * * * soundboard by the cross beam, and the tonality is changed with their feet.

Tone and playing method [edit]

The early harp had only a few strings arranged in natural scales, and the tonality it could play was limited. The pedal harp can play all the rising and falling notes, and its seven pedals can transform the harp into any natural scale. Combined with the principle of equal tone, the seventh chord of harp diatonic scale can be changed into seven chords of various four-tone combinations.

Harp playing requires both hands, but no little finger. The timbre of the harp is similar to that of the piano, but it is soft and elegant. There are several special ways to play the harp, namely:

Overtone: make the timbre clear and transparent, which is eight octaves higher than the original sound.

Slippery: Make the timbre play a unique harmony effect.

Voiced voice: to make the timbre sonorous and powerful
