Folk custom of beating cakes

working methods

Materials for making cakes:

4500 grams of glutinous rice, 500 grams of soybeans, 500 grams of adzuki beans and 200 grams of sugar.

The characteristics of cake making:

Waxy is soft and sticky. Because it is made of a hammer, the cake is tough, wrapped in bean powder and has a unique flavor.

Production method:

1. Wash adzuki beans, put them in a pot, add water until soft and rotten, take them out, control the water, add sugar, then stir-fry them in a pot with low fire and grind them into bean paste powder.

2. Wash the soybeans with clear water, stir-fry them with low fire, take them out, grind them and sieve them into fine powder.

3. Soak the glutinous rice in clear water for about 10 hour, take out the clear water and put it in a steamer covered with wet cloth.

Beat the cake (four pieces)

After the pot is preheated, put it in, cover it tightly, steam it for about 20 minutes, take it out, put it in a wooden trough or flat slate, beat it into balls with a mallet, then beat it into sticky cakes, cut it into long strips, and wrap it with a layer of cooked soybean powder or bean paste powder, or eat it without wrapping it.
