Diqing Tibetans mainly include Lunar New Year, Tibetan New Year, Molang Qinbo Dharma, May Horse Racing Festival, Baden City and Gedong Festival.

Lunar New Year: Most Tibetans in Diqing celebrate the Lunar New Year. The time is from the first day to the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, and the festival activities are colorful and festive. In order to celebrate the Spring Festival, all kinds of new year's goods for eating, wearing, playing and using are generally organized from the beginning of1February. Before dinner on the 29th, dry flour should be sprinkled on the middle wall of the clean kitchen, and auspicious patterns should be drawn on the floor with dry flour. Others painted a lot of white dots on the beams, indicating that the house was full of food. On the evening of the 29th, exorcism activities were generally held, symbolizing eliminating the old and establishing the new, eliminating disasters and avoiding disasters.

On New Year's Eve, all kinds of fried fruits, buckets filled with wheat dregs, seedlings on the back, sheep's heads painted with various colors, candy, crisp tea and highland barley are placed on the kitchen cabinets or tables of every household to show piety. We should also do some interesting activities, such as trying on new clothes. The housewife will add brown sugar and broken milk residue to the cooked highland barley wine in the middle of the night for the family members who sleep under the covers.

On the first day of the new year, the rooster crowed for the first time. Housewives go to wells or springs to sprinkle grain and pick up the first bucket of clean water. Tibetans call it "Summer Song". After the whole family got up to wash the wrasse and drank enough livestock, the mother picked up the auspicious double bucket and wished the whole family "Tahide Del Pengsongxi" (good luck and happiness). So the whole family grabbed a handful of rotten bran in the bucket and threw it into the air, tasted a little, and made a wish to come back: "Ama Bazhu Gongkangsang" (May the loving mother be happy and healthy). After blessing each other, everyone will drink porridge and eat minced meat, bones and milk residue.

On the first and second days of the new year, we usually don't visit each other. On the third day, I began to visit relatives and friends and treat each other for a week. During the Chinese New Year, horse racing, yak racing, pot dancing, love dancing, singing folk songs, watching Tibetan operas and other activities are generally held.
