The learning experience of making dumplings1

Today at noon, my family unanimously requested to eat dumplings, but my grandma loves to make dumplings the least, so all of a sudden I said, "Grandma, I'll help you make dumplings." Grandma was surprised and full of smiles and said, "Good!"

Grandma began to prepare the ingredients for the dumplings, and I prepared the rolling pin.

My grandma turned the kneaded dough into a small cake, and I took the tiny rolling pin in my hand and rolled the cake into a sheet, which usually looks easy, but it was very hard for me to do. Rolled seven twisted, making them laugh, I was very anxious, thinking I must roll well, after a turn of the hands and feet, finally rolled into a good point of the sheet, the shoulders of the hand tired and sore. Some rolled very large, large to grandpa package, package as a "fat general"; some rolled very small, small to grandma package, package like a "thin old man".

Finally, I finished the dumplings in the middle of the mockery, and I couldn't help but laugh at the shape of the dumplings that came out of the pot. My family ate the dumplings and said, "Yuchen, you're great, this is the most flavorful dumpling we've ever eaten." Listening to everyone's praise, I was proud of myself.

Wrapping dumplings made me taste the joy of success and my own small responsibility. I also realized the ability to practice with my hands and the hard work of my parents in doing household chores. Therefore, I want to develop a good habit of doing housework every day (e.g., washing dishes, mopping the floor, etc.) and share the burden with my parents!

The experience of making dumplings2

After entering the university, I joined the Sunshine Association. In order to enhance the relationship between students and enrich university life, the association organized a unique dumpling-making activity.

At first, I didn't want to go because I didn't know how to make dumplings. However, the minister said that we could learn on the spot, so I participated with the intention of exercising my own mind, and it is always good to have one more life skill. So, at 9:00 on the 13th, we started to make dumplings. When we gathered, some people arrived late and some didn't show up, so we wasted some time. However, this didn't dampen our enthusiasm. When we first entered the cafeteria, we were actually a bit nervous, after all, we didn't know anything. When the minister brought the materials up, I felt like I had nothing to do and didn't know what to do. Luckily, Shao Ge knows how to make dumplings, so I watched him make dumplings and realized that it was quite simple, so I tried to make a few dumplings myself. After wrapping the dumplings, there was a new problem: how to make the lace. Xi Zhaohui and I struggled with this for a long time, but finally got over it. We finally realized that it was not important to look good, but to taste good, so we stopped obsessing about it and made the lace as we wanted. After a long struggle, the dumplings were finally finished. We took the dumplings to the kitchen and put them in the pot with the excitement of jellyfish. Because we had made more dumplings, we waited a little longer for the pot to be ready. When the pot of dumplings came out of the oven, we were so excited that we took pictures of our results. And when the dumplings came out of the pot, one by one, we couldn't stop our mouths from watering. Pork with shiitake mushrooms, pork with cabbage, pork with celery, all kinds of dumplings with various fillings made our mouths water. I guess our dumplings were so fragrant that people from other departments came over to grab the dumplings, and it was estimated that one-fifth of our dumplings were grabbed, which shows how fragrant our dumplings are.

This activity was very interesting and meaningful. This kind of activity makes the originally unfamiliar members of the society familiar with each other and understand their respective characteristics, and also exercises the cooperation ability of all of us for the future work. I believe this kind of activity will have a great impact on our 4 years of college.

Wrapping dumplings increases our cohesion and makes us truly a collective!
