How do Achang people celebrate the Songkran Festival?

The seventh day after Tomb-Sweeping Day every year is the beginning of the Achang Water-splashing Festival. This morning, men and women, old and young, put on holiday costumes and picked flowers, with women on their heads and men on their chests. At about four o'clock in the afternoon, all the young and middle-aged men in the village got together. A man in front danced with a kitchen knife, and several people behind danced with elephant-foot drums, firing guns all the way, and headed for the mountain. Set off firecrackers and pick flowers (mulberry flowers, azaleas and the like) after going up the mountain. Everyone is dancing on the mountain with flowers in their hands. Enough dancing, everyone. Knock on the elephant foot drum and go back to the village. The women in the village have already prepared basil Baba. When they heard the news that the flower picking team had fired bronze guns, they immediately selected a dozen girls to meet them outside the village with basil Baba. The flower pickers presented flowers to the girls, and the girls invited them to eat Baba, and then sang and danced back to the village. Back in the village, they tied the collected flowers into flower towers and sedan chairs and danced around the flower towers until late at night.
