What is coloured glaze?

Glazed glass, one of the four famous porcelain in Jingdezhen, is called "glazed glass" because some oxidized metals are added to the glaze, and after firing, it will show some inherent colors.

Traditional colored glaze includes: green glaze with iron as colorant; Red glaze with copper as colorant; Blue glaze with cobalt as colorant. In history, there are outstanding masterpieces of glass in many periods, such as blue glaze and Jun red in Song Dynasty, Ji red in Ming Dynasty, Wujin glaze and tea glaze in Qing Dynasty.

The difference between colored glaze and ordinary colored glaze lies in the special firing process and formula of colored glaze. The glaze of colored glaze must be calcined at a high temperature above 1.250 degrees Celsius to show its unique charm, such as light flow like oil, color flow like rainbow, and particle flow like waterfall.
