What are the main ways to produce new words in modern Chinese?

1. Under the situation of great changes, new things and new concepts have emerged like a flood, and there are not so many equivalents in Mandarin and dialects for a while, so a number of loanwords, especially those from Hong Kong and Taiwan, have entered modern Chinese.

2. In modern Chinese, due to the development trend of disyllabic words, monosyllabic words or polyphonic phrases have also acquired new disyllabic forms in communication, adding new vocabulary to the language.

3. The existing word-formation materials and methods are the linguistic basis for the emergence of new words. For example, "computers, electric fans, movies, electric pens and electrotherapy" are all organized by old word-making materials (electricity, brain, fan, pen and therapy) according to the partial relationship.
