The Background of Shaanxi Folk Embroidery
As early as Yu Shun's time, there was embroidery in China. The recorded history of folk embroidery in Shaanxi can be traced back to the Zhou and Qin Dynasties, and embroidery is recorded in the Book of Songs (now southwest of Xunyi, Shaanxi). Small embroidery is an ancient embroidery in Shaanxi, which was once popular in the Tang Dynasty, thus showing the long history of Shaanxi embroidery. Embroidery began to distinguish the levels and types of people who used embroidery invisibly from the Han Dynasty. Although embroidery is created by working people in their work, ordinary working people can only decorate practical products such as clothing, shoes and hats with simple embroidery techniques in their lives. Since then, Shaanxi folk embroidery has gradually formed a unique category.
