What is the structure of barren woman?

Infertile women refer to women with abnormal reproductive system or unable to have normal sexual intercourse and have children.

There are two kinds of infertile women, one is called true barren woman, also called endolith, which refers to women with congenital absence of vagina or vaginal atresia or uterine hypoplasia. The incidence of such patients is relatively low. Surgical incision or vaginoplasty can be used to improve vaginal atresia or absence of vagina, and the problem can be solved after operation. However, those with uterine hypoplasia will not have menstruation or pregnancy after operation.

The other is called false barren woman, also known as external stone, which means that the vagina and other reproductive organs of women are in a normal state, but the hymen is closed or the hymen is enlarged, so that sexual intercourse cannot be performed and menstruation cannot be discharged smoothly.

Such women's vagina, uterus, ovaries, etc. develop normally, and only the hymen is closed. They only need to do hymen incision to solve menstrual problems, and they can also have normal sexual life and pregnancy.

Principles of treatment

The principle of treatment for infertile women with congenital absence of vagina is to reconstruct vagina. There are many methods of artificial vaginoplasty, including non-surgical treatment. Surgical treatment is mainly to separate urethra, bladder and rectum to form an artificial cavity, and to find a suitable cavity wound covering to reconstruct vagina by different methods.
