How long does it take to change the water in the fish tank at home?

1. Generally speaking, fish tanks need to be changed once a week. It is not necessary to change all the water every time, as long as 1/5- 1/3 is appropriate. If the water is changed too much, the balance of the ecosystem in the fish tank will be broken, resulting in fish and plants unable to adapt.

2. For fish tanks over 60 cm, because the water quality is relatively stable and the water body fluctuates little, it can be replaced with 1/3 water body at one time. For a fish tank with a size of 40-60 cm, due to unstable water quality and large fluctuation of water body, 1/4 water body can be changed every time, and 1/5 water body can be changed every time if the fish tank is smaller.

3. Every time you change water, you need to suck out the dirt at the bottom of the fish tank with a straw. Don't directly use tap water for water. It is best to boil tap water and let it cool before adding it to the fish tank. Tap water contains a lot of bleaching powder and chlorine, which is very harmful to fish.
