China on the Tip of the Tongue: Afterthoughts on geography in 200 words or more

China's terrain is complex and varied, with different geographic environments (e.g., oceans, grasslands, mountains, forests, basins, and lakes) leading to different living customs and different eating habits. Tongue Tips of China takes us all over the country to savor the different cuisines of different regions. What I found most interesting was the second episode, "The Story of Staple Food". Due to different natural conditions such as precipitation and solar radiation in the north and south, people living in different regions enjoy very different and rich staple foods. Like the northern region of Shaanxi, the climate is dry, millet, become the favorite staple food of the local people. Southern areas suitable for growing rice, rice has become an indispensable thing on our table.
