What are the important factors that contributed to the emergence of cognitive psychology
2. The basis for the development of psychology. The sources of psychology are Vonte's content psychology (experimental psychology) and his disciple Titchener's structuralist psychology. Their mode of research, however, was to turn psychological phenomena into individual static elements (e.g., sensation, perception, thought, etc.) to be analyzed independently and then turned into a system. This was strongly opposed by their national counterparts, such as Weitheim and Kaufka, who argued that the human psyche is a dynamic and organic process, so how could it be split up in this way? As a result, the Gestalt School of Psychology (Completionism) arose, and then the Swiss psychologist Jean. Later, the Swiss psychologist Jean Piaget established the original cognitive theory, the "Geneva School", on this basis. At the same time, Brenotta emphasized the dynamic changes of the psyche from a stream-of-consciousness perspective, giving rise to the school of intentional psychology. These developments have become the theoretical basis of cognitive psychology;
3, the basis of empirical methods. In the United States, the American psychologist James, who emphasized pragmatism, was unwilling to accept Vonte's perspective, and established a school called "functionalist psychology (functionalist psychology)" by Tichina, which studied psychological phenomena from the perspective of actual functioning. On this basis, behaviorist psychology, which emphasized practicality and realism, was born. The experimental methods of behaviorism became the basis of cognitive psychology. And later cognitive psychology masters: Gardner, Ausubel, Bruner, Gagne, etc., this time are still children.
4, in summary, cognitive psychology can be said to be the product of the traditional schools of psychology (in addition to psychoanalysis and humanism). Therefore, it can become the mainstream of psychological research today. Today, the world's cognitive psychology research in the most advanced institutions of higher learning, first of all, the United States of America's Stanford University.
