What are the common metal material forming processes?

1, die casting (note that die casting is not short for die casting)

It is a metal casting process, which is characterized by applying high pressure to molten metal by cavity. Mold is usually made of higher strength alloy, which is somewhat similar to injection molding.

2. Sand casting process?

Is to use sand as a mold. The sand casting process needs to put the finished part model or wooden model (pattern) into the sand, then fill the sand at the weekend of the pattern, and the sand forms the mold after unpacking and taking out the pattern. ?

In order to take out the mold before casting metal, the mold should be made into two or more parts; In the process of casting the mold, it is necessary to leave holes and exhaust holes for injecting metal into the mold to synthesize the gating system. After pouring the metal liquid into the mold, keep it for a proper time until the metal solidifies. After the parts were taken out, the mold was destroyed, so the mold must be made again every casting. ?

3. Investment casting?

Also known as lost wax casting, it includes wax pressing, wax trimming, tree assembly, plastic dipping, wax melting, molten metal casting and post-treatment. Lost wax casting is to make a wax model of the parts to be cast with wax, and then coat the wax model with mud. This is a clay mold. After the clay mold is dried, it is baked into a ceramic mold. Once baked, all the wax molds melt away, leaving only the ceramic molds. Generally, when making clay molds, there will be a gate, and then molten metal will be poured from the gate, and the required parts will be made after cooling.

4. die forging?

It is a forging method to obtain forgings by forming blanks with dies on special die forging equipment. According to different equipment, die forging can be divided into hammer die forging, crank press die forging, flat forging machine die forging, friction press die forging and so on. Roll forging is a plastic forming process in which materials are plastically deformed under the action of a pair of counter-rotating dies to obtain the required forgings or forging blanks. It is a special form of forming rolling (longitudinal rolling).

5. Scroll?

Also known as calendering, it refers to the process of forming metal ingots through a pair of rollers. If the temperature of metal exceeds its recrystallization temperature during rolling, this process is called "hot rolling", otherwise it is called "cold rolling". Calendering is the most commonly used method in metal processing.
