There are relatively many famous shops of Beijing roast duck, but only a handful of them can be regarded as century-old shops.

First, Quanjude. Founded in 1864 (three years of Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty), it is the representative of hanging roast duck. Its characteristics are: the freshly baked roast duck has crisp skin, fresh meat, elegant fruit and wood fragrance. The duck is full-bodied, even and purplish red, shiny and moist, and pleasing to the eye. With lotus leaf cake, onion and sauce, it is delicious, mellow and memorable. The old shop is at the front door, and the biggest shop is at Heping Gate.

Second, cheap squares. Founded in 14 16 (14th year of Yongle in Ming Dynasty), it is the representative of braised roast duck. It is characterized by crispy skin, plump meat layer, white and tender meat, oily but not greasy, and delicious taste. This old shop is located in Hadmen.

These are two time-honored roast duck restaurants in Beijing, and there are also some famous roast duck restaurants, but they were basically opened after the founding of the People's Republic of China.

1. Dadong Roast Duck Restaurant, established in 1985, has a high-end orientation and its head office is located in Tuanjiehukou, Chaoyang District.

2. Liqun Roast Duck Restaurant was founded in 1992 by Quanjude's chef Zhang Liqun, and its storefront is located in Qianmen East Street.

Jiuhuashan Roast Duck Restaurant is located in Zengguang Road, Haidian.
