6.1 The Origin of Children's Day
The establishment of International Children's Day is related to a famous massacre during World War II. In June 1942, German fascists shot and killed more than 14 male citizens over the age of 16 and all their babies in Tekeli Ditze village, and took women and 9 children to concentration camps. Houses and buildings in the village were burned down, and a good village was destroyed by German fascists. After the end of World War II, the world economy was depressed, and thousands of workers lost their jobs and lived a life of hunger and cold. Children's situation is even worse, and some have contracted infectious diseases and died in batches; Others are forced to be child laborers, tortured and their lives and lives are not guaranteed. In order to mourn the children who died in the fascist war of aggression in Lidice village and all over the world, in November 1949, the International Democratic Women's Federation held a board meeting in Moscow. In order to guarantee the right to life, health care and education of children all over the world, and to improve children's lives, the meeting decided to take the first day of June when Lidice village was massacred as International Children's Day. At that time, many countries agreed, especially socialist countries. Many countries in the world have designated June 1st as a children's festival, especially in socialist countries. In Europe and America, the dates of Children's Day are different, and public celebrations are rarely held. Therefore, some people misunderstand that only socialist countries will designate June 1 as International Children's Day. In order to protect the rights and interests of children all over the world, in November 1949, the Executive Committee of the International Democratic Women's Federation held a meeting in Moscow, and decided to take June 1st every year as International Children's Day. After the founding of New China, the State Council of the Central People's Government stipulated on December 23, 1949 that Children's Day in China should be unified with International Children's Day.
The concept of "International Children's Day" was first put forward at the international conference on children's welfare held in Geneva, Switzerland in August p>1925. Children's Day
Representatives from 54 countries gathered in Geneva, Switzerland to hold the "International Conference on Children's Happiness" and adopted the Geneva Declaration on Protecting Children. In the declaration, there are heated discussions on children's spiritual enjoyment, the relief for poor children, the avoidance of dangerous work for children, the opportunity for children to earn a living, and how to save and raise children. Since this congress, on the one hand, in order to inspire children and make them feel happy, on the other hand, in order to attract social attention and love, governments of various countries have successively stipulated "Children's Day". In November, 1949, the International Democratic Women's Federation held an executive committee in Moscow, and formally decided that June 1st every year would be a festival for children all over the world, that is, International Children's Day.

Historical development
Childhood in the smoke of Children's Day in old China is inevitably painful and angry, but the suffering childhood is also bright and enthusiastic. The establishment of China Anti-Japanese Children's League made the children in the mountains have their own festival-Children's Day, but it was April 4th. In War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, there are hundreds of thousands of anti-Japanese children's league members in the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei border region of China, including Wang Erxiao, a famous anti-Japanese hero, and Dong Cunrui, a martyr in the liberation war. Many more children's league members have become the backbone of socialist construction after the magnificent new-democratic revolution. The old children's league members recalled that on Children's Day, as long as the Japanese didn't come to "mop up", all counties and districts would organize activities and hold conferences. Sometimes singing competitions are held, sometimes drills are organized, and children's groups in several villages are still struggling to see who sings well and drills neatly, and there are prizes if they win, usually pencils. In order to improve the ability to deal with the enemy, military training is also an important part of the children's league. Summer camps were organized in the border areas, and the backbones of children's groups were gathered in the deep mountains for training. They learned how to shoot guns, stab people and lay mines, and they also conducted training, air defense exercises and fire prevention exercises. In order to improve the anti-"mopping-up" ability, the Children's League also organized the "Charge Month" activity, where children were gathered every night, lived together, and had an emergency gathering in the middle of the night, backpacking and running across the forest. Children's Day after the founding of New China
[1] Since 1949, the People's Republic of China has officially designated June 1st as International Children's Day. Schools generally organize related group activities for this purpose, and require students to dress formally (white shirts and blue pants before the popularization of school uniforms). Although Hong Kong is a part of China, the date of Children's Day in Hong Kong is the same as that of Children's Day in Taiwan Province, China, that is, April 4. The way of folk celebration is to give toys and gifts to children, or to accompany children out for a big meal or play.
Celebrating for the first time
On June 1st, 195, the first International Children's Day was celebrated by the small owners in New China. Children are the future of the motherland. However, before liberation, the children of the working people were deprived of the right to receive education and a happy childhood. After the founding of New China, the Party and the government attached great importance to the healthy growth of children. Despite the lack of material conditions and difficulties in the early days of liberation, the CPC Central Committee still attached importance to the all-round development of children. In November 1949, the Council of the International Democratic Women's Federation decided that June 1st would be the International Children's Day. The newly established Central People's Government of the People's Republic of China has decided to designate this day as a festival for children in China. The CPC Central Committee attaches great importance to the first Children's Day in New China. In order to prepare for the celebration of Children's Day on June 1st, in response to the appeal of "Defending Children's Rights and Striving for Peace" issued by the Democratic Women's Federation and other organizations, 11 people's organizations and relevant departments of the Central People's Government in China have specially formed a preparatory committee. Mao Zedong wrote an inscription: "Celebrate Children's Day". Commander-in-Chief Zhu earnestly hoped: "The children of the new China should love the motherland, science and labor, and be prepared to build a new China." Liu Shaoqi, Zhou Enlai, Soong Ching Ling, Deng Yingchao and other party and state leaders also wrote inscriptions for the children. On this day, 5, children gathered in the concert hall of Zhongshan Park in Beijing to celebrate their festival. Children and mothers from the Soviet Union, North Korea and other countries were also invited to attend the party. Commander-in-Chief Zhu is very concerned about the healthy growth of children. He said: "your is still young, but we should study hard, learn all kinds of scientific knowledge, and exercise ourselves to be strong, ready to participate in the work of building a new China, and turn poor and backward China into China with a strong industrial base with high culture." On this day, children all over the country also held get-together activities. Since then, every June 1st, all parts of the country have organized various kinds of activities to celebrate children's festivals. The Party and the government are very concerned about the healthy growth of children, creating a good environment for their life and study, and the children in New China are thriving under the Party's sunshine.

They are still as usual, either attending classes at school, working in workshops, or begging in the streets. Some Iraqis revealed that during Saddam's more than 2 years in power, June 1st was designated as the day of oil nationalization in Iraq.
