How to jump out of the traditional way of thinking

Jump out of the inherent thinking and open the door to a new world

Small story and great truth

0 1

Having a choice is having the ability.

Story: Anthony Robbins, an American success master, said: No matter what happens in life, you should focus on finding solutions, not on the direction that scares you.

There are at least three solutions to everything. People who have only one way of doing things will get into trouble because they have no choice. People who have two views on things are also easy to get into trouble, because they create a dilemma for themselves, a dilemma. People with the third method usually look for the fourth or fifth method, or even more.

If you have a choice, you have the ability, so it's better to have a choice than not to have one. So far, it has not been successful, but the methods used so far have not achieved the expected results.

Truth: There is no way, but all known methods don't work. In fact, there are many methods in the world that we haven't thought of before or don't know yet. Only by believing that there is an unknown effective method can we find it and make things change. Anyway, we always have the right to choose, and there is more than one. Why not let yourself be the first person to find a way out?

Be wary of falling into "experience"

Story: This is an interesting experiment. Subjects must be educated adults. Illiteracy and children are not allowed.

Question: Add a word "Lai" to the right of Sanshui. What?

A: Say "Huan".

Ask again: How about adding the word "go" to the right of Sanshui? At least half of the respondents were suddenly speechless, and some even immediately replied categorically: There is no such word at all?

In fact, the word "Fa" is used much more frequently than "Huan".

In general, anyone who knows the word "respect" will know the word "law". So what's the problem? This is the role of mentality.

Three drops of water and a word "lai" are pronounced as "lai", which are typical "left-form and right-sound" characters in Chinese characters. When you answer this simple question, a state of mind will quietly affect your thinking. When the questioner asks a question according to the corresponding stereotype of "Lai" and "Qu" in Chinese characters, you will probably immediately consider it according to the thinking mode of "left form and right sound", while "Fa" does not pronounce "Qu", then the existence of this common word will be denied immediately.

The question is so simple, but it is so incredible. Of course, this "stereotype" must have its causes-the knowledge structure needed to form this stereotype. If you ask the students in the third and fourth grades of primary school the same question, almost no one will be "fooled". This is because they don't have the knowledge structure to form this stereotype.

Truth: this is a fixed trend caused by "inertia", and it is easy to form a "fixed" trend between choice and rejection. The only feasible way to break the stereotype is to greatly broaden our horizons, change our existing way of thinking, and always be wary of falling into "experience".

Jump out of the cycle of "either one or the other"

Story: the company recruits employees, and there is a test question like this:

On a stormy night, you drive past a bus stop and find three people waiting for the bus: the first one is an old woman who looks dying, the second one is a doctor who once saved your life, and the third one is your dream lover. Your car can only carry one passenger. Who do you choose?

Everyone's answer has his reasons: I chose the old woman because the land is dying and we want to save her life; Choose a doctor because he once saved your life, and now is your best chance to repay him: choose your dream girl because if you miss this opportunity, you may never get her back?

What was the answer to the last one of the 200 applicants who was hired? "I gave the doctor the car keys and asked him to take the old woman to the hospital quickly; And I stayed and waited for the bus with my beloved. "

Truth: We are often limited by the "either-or" thinking mode. We can get more by "getting off" ourselves and abandoning the inherent mode of thinking.
