How to hold a Korean wedding
On the day of the wedding, the bride goes to make-up very early in the morning. After applying makeup, she waits at home for the groom to come and marry her.
The groom also wakes up early. After eating breakfast and organizing the image, the groom's father seems to tie a tie and put on a suit for the groom. At this time, the best man and photographer will also come to the groom's home. I did everything in my hotel room since I was from out of town.
The Korean requirements for the best man and maid of honor are different from the Han Chinese. Han Chinese usually seem to have unmarried men and women as bridesmaids, while Koreans have married, happy families, and have had boys as bridesmaids.
In addition, according to Korean custom, the groom should prepare a box called "?9?7?3?2?6?5 (big long letter)". It usually contains blankets, clothes, a sewing box, gifts for the bride (such as a necklace), a marriage license, a bankbook, and so on. These items symbolize the daily necessities of the couple's future life together. The big long letter is loaded and then wrapped in a red cloth. It is said that the groom used to carry this box to the bride's house by himself to get married. Now it is carried by the best man, the groom is easy, huh. The next step is the groom and best man in a black limousine to the bride's home to marry. After arriving at the bride's home, there will be some children out "blocking the road", this link is called "?8?3?1?7 (road fee)". So the groom needs to prepare some 10 dollars in advance, when the time to give each blocking a few people, sometimes give less people still refuse to give way, have to give a few more. In order to get married, this little difficulty is nothing. Waiting in front of the bride's house, anxious, sea of stone, and finally can enter the door. Before entering, the bride's mother and some female relatives will dance in front of the door in Korean clothes to show their welcome to the groom. When the groom enters the door, he first has to first give the big long letter to the bride's parents. Then he kneels in front of the bride's parents, unwraps the red cloth in front of them, and takes out the contents of the box and explains them one by one. The necklace is also taken out and put on the bride on the spot. Some words are said to appease the in-laws, such as to make the bride happy. By the way, the bride wears a wedding dress, the mother of the bride wears a Hanbok, and the groom and the father of the bride wear suits. Korean Bride The groom then takes out two envelopes of money and gives one to each of the bride's parents, which are called "?3?5?7?3 (breastfeeding fee)," meaning that the bride's parents are thankful for the bride's upbringing. The exact amount is kept secret. Then the best man and maid of honor they shake hands with the groom and congratulate him. The bride, on the other hand, gives her family and relatives a tearful hug goodbye. With that, the bride is about to head out the door. The groom needs to carry the bride into the limo. Then the limousine, as well as the tailgate car behind it, set off in great style from in front of the bride's house. The wedding car drove to Jindalai Square in Yanji, to where it was mainly for some location shots as well as souvenir photos. In less than an hour, the shooting was done and the caravan headed to the hotel where the wedding was to be held. We chose the "Century Mansion", where many couples, all of them ethnic Koreans, were getting married that day. When the car arrived at the entrance of the hotel, the groom's parents and others were said to dance outside the bride's car until the bride was happy and then they wouldn't get out of the car. However, my parents are not Korean, and they don't know how to dance, so the bride came down of her own accord. The ceremony at the restaurant was closer to that in Japan. At the reception, we were greeted by someone who wrote "man" on one side and "woman" on the other. The guests of both the man and the woman are here to give gifts and to sign their names.
Once the guests are basically seated, the bride and groom enter the room amidst flowers, applause, and music. Then it was time for the bride and groom to exchange rings and gifts. The bride's gift this time is a watch. Next, the MC will ask the groom to kiss the bride and will ask him to confess his love for her in public. The groom will hold the microphone with both hands and say "?2?7.0.3.6.1.1.7.9.6.6.7!" (Ahn Mi-hyun, I love you) with the same vigor as when Dong Cun-rui blew up the bunker or when Braveheart said, "Freedom! I love you). Next, they will give "?3?1 (kowtow)" to both parents, first bowing to the in-laws and saying things like please don't worry about them. The father of the bride also says some blessings to the groom. Then the bride kowtows to the groom's parents, saying that she will honor them in the future, and the groom's parents also say some instructions and blessings. The next step is to "hold the bride". The groom will carry the bride around the venue. The bride is relatively light, so I easily held the bride walked around. If the bride is a bit fat, the groom will have to build up his muscles every day. As in Japanese weddings, the bride and groom have their own long table called "?4?1?8?9?1?8 (bridal table)". Everything on that table is for the bride and groom, so the money is split 50/50 between the bride and groom's families. After the groom carries the bride around the table he returns to the bridal table. At this point, a small bag of red beans is placed on the bride's chair, not sure what the symbolism is. Bridesmaids and groomsmen sit next to the bride and groom respectively.
