The name of the telegraph in the Republic of China?

1 Word Explanation Edit

Rhyme for Day is a method of telegraphic dating in Chinese history. At the beginning of the opening of the telegraph by the Qing government, because sending telegrams was very expensive, by word, "word is gold", so it was very important to economize on the use of words. Therefore, it was very important to economize the use of characters. For this reason, a new way of dating was invented, replacing the month with the earth's branch and the date with the rhyme. This method has been used in the field of telegraphy until the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, before and after the use of more than 70 years. In other areas are also used, and even some people's diaries are to rhyme instead of the day. Some famous events in history are also named in this way, such as: horse day incident, gray day riots, Wenxi fire, YanDian, HaoDian and so on.

2 Rhyming catalog instead of date editing

Hongjun used the rhyming catalog of the Ping Shui Rhyme compiled in the Jin Dynasty instead of the date. Rhymes are concepts in traditional Chinese phonetics. To learn how to write poetry, you must first learn the rhyming book and know how to rhyme. Instead of the date, there are thirty rhyming entries selected from the Table of Rhyming Entries, each representing thirty days. In the first fifteen days, all of the flat tones of the rhyme scheme were used, followed by ten of the upper tones of the rhyme scheme, and five of the lower tones of the rhyme scheme; later on, the Gregorian calendar was used, and the last "Shi", which was not found in the Rhyme Sheet, was added to represent 31 days, and thus the thirty-one characters were used to represent thirty-one days respectively. This poetic way of dating was very convenient at that time, because the readers knew which character represented which day at a glance, but later on, with the rise of vernacular language and the loss of practical function of poetry, the readers gradually lost their interest in filling in the lyrics and composing poems, and the sound and rhyme were not emphasized. So much so that what used to be something that the average person knew how to do has become specialized knowledge, and now it's hard for the average person to figure it out.

Thirty days, which is supposed to be "陷" but is bad for the army.

Shì, yǐn

Thirty days, according to the regulations, should be "陷", but in the military is inauspicious, taboo, so the word "卅" (卅, pinyin: sà, that is, thirty) is used instead; and there is no rhyme scheme available for the thirty-first day of the Gregorian calendar, so the word "世" or The Chinese character "世" (三十, pinyin: sà, which means thirty) was used instead of the Chinese character "引"; and since there was no rhyme scheme for 31st day of the lunar calendar, it was usually replaced by the character "世" (世, pinyin: sà, which means thirty) or the Chinese character "引". The word "Sh" is a combination of "thirty-one" and "引" is like 31 Arabic numerals. According to the above table, "Dongri" is the first day of the month; "Ma" stands for the twenty-first day; the Mari Incident happened on the twenty-first day of May 1927; the Wenxi Fire happened on the twelfth night of November 1938; and "Yandian" is the telegram of December 1938, which was sent on the twenty-ninth day of December. The Yandian is a telegram from December 29th, 1938
