What kind of person was Mr. Nanguo
Mr. Nanguo is a person who occupies his position without talent.
Mr. Nanguo [nán guō xiān shēng] Source: "Jin Shu - Liu Shi Biography": "If the wind of pushing the virtuous is not established, and the law of abusive election is not changed, the disciples of Mr. Nanguo are full of people in the court."
Allusion:
King Xuan of Qi asked someone to play yu, and he must have 300 people to play together. The Nanguo priest asked to play yu for King Xuan of Qi, and King Xuan of Qi was so pleased with this that he fed him with food for hundreds of people. After the death of King Xuan of Qi, King Min of Qi succeeded to the throne, and King Min of Qi liked to listen to one by one, so Nanguo escaped after listening to him.
Abusive, an ancient Han fable. Abusive: inaccurate, false. Charge: to impersonate. Meaning: people who can't play yu are mixed in the team of yu players to fill up the number. It is a metaphor for people with no real talent mixing with insiders and pretending to be good. From "Han Fei Zi" (韩非子-内储說上).
