10KV large-capacity motor is connected by squirrel cage or winding? What is the difference?

The choice of motor depends on your needs. In theory, the winding type torque is larger, but in practice, if the winding type is used, the failure rate will be higher, so the squirrel-dragon type is often used in industry. For example, among the 15 10 kV motors of 600 kW and above in my unit, except for 6 synchronous motors of 1000 kW and above, all the other 9 motors are squirrel-dragon motors.

As for the harm to the power grid, it depends on the capacity of the transformer you use. If the motor power is less than 15% of the transformer capacity, it can basically be used safely. If it is higher, it may affect the grid voltage reduction.

If you don't have your own transformer, you should get approval from the local power supply bureau.
