Questions about Bagua Kites
Bagua kite is a traditional Chinese kite, and its shadow can be seen everywhere in the north and south of the Yangtze River. Generally speaking, Bagua kites are suitable for flying in the case of large kites. The flying experience shows that the stronger the wind, the greater the flying angle of the kite. Because it belongs to the category of hard shooting, there is no place where the wind blows, so the popularity of kites is closely related to the change of wind power. If the wind is unstable, it is very interesting for the gossip kite to fly up and down. Fig. 3 is the skeleton diagram of the gossip kite. Bagua kite is simple to make, and the requirements for materials and binding are not very strict. As long as you follow the following requirements, you can generally achieve the purpose of flying.
Bagua kite is named after the shape of the kite, because it comes from the octagon, and because it is consistent with the traditional gossip in China, so it is often called Bagua. In painting, traditional gossip graphics are generally used to draw. The skeleton of Bagua consists of two square shelves, and the size of the square skeleton is generally between 500-1000 mm. It's just that the size requirements of the two squares are the same. According to the size of the kite, only one rigid bamboo stick can be set for 500mm, as shown in the figure. If it is larger than this specification, it is necessary to set a cross skeleton, and the size of bamboo strips should be larger, and it should be larger than the width in the thickness direction. Take the 500 mm Bagua kite as an example. The four bamboo strips forming a square are all 3mm wide and 500mm long. Tie two square skeletons together with chopped bamboo strips, and then tie the two squares together as shown in the figure to form an octagon. The cover material of the kite is the same as that of the two kites above. The kite has three lines, the position of which is shown in the picture. Like a tadpole kite, when flying, the kite is also drawn into an arc with thin lines in the center of the kite, which is beneficial to the kite's laxity in flight. Kites can fly without bending. it wont hurt you to try it
Bagua kites are generally painted with traditional bagua patterns. The tail of a gossip kite is usually tied to a string with paper nails.

Making Bagua Kite
, equipment preparation content:
1. Tools: art knife, scissors, long ruler, gel pen, fine copper wire.
2. Material: 4 mm wide and 1.5~2 mm thick, with 4 single bamboo joints and bamboo strips about 50 cm long. 1 color film wrapping paper, 15 calendar film strips with a width of 3cm, 1 double-sided tape paper with a lifting line of 2m and a width of 4mm, 1 transparent tape paper with a width of 0cm.
, production steps:
1. Refurbished bamboo strips:
1) Trim the pile joint by oblique cutting, and trim the thickness and width of four bamboo strips to meet the requirements.
2) Draw a center line at the pile repairing joint, measure out the bamboo strips with equal length at both ends as the center, and cut off the redundant parts (***2).
3) Calculate and intercept two short bamboo strips according to the taken long bamboo strips.
For example, as shown in the figure, the side length of a square is x cm, and according to the geometric knowledge, its diagonal is x (i.e. 1.4x). The length of the existing bamboo strips is 49.2 cm, and the two sides of the pile section are 24 cm and 25.2 cm respectively. Remove 1.2cm according to step (b), so that both sides of the center line are 24cm long and the clear length of bamboo strips is 48cm. If the 48cm bamboo strip is a square diagonal, then 1.4x = 48cm, x = 34cm, which is the length of short bamboo strip, and 17cm is still taken on both sides of the pile segment according to the center line.
4) Take the center line as the fulcrum, and correct the four bamboo sticks to the left and right equal weight.
Methods: The artist's blade was supported on the center line of the bamboo piece, and whether the bamboo piece was balanced left and right was observed. The inclined end is heavy, so one end should be scraped thin with a knife until the two ends are balanced. After the four bamboo strips are aligned, stick a double-sided adhesive tape with equal length and width on the green bamboo surface of each bamboo strip.
2. On the reverse side of the mask paper, draw a rich skeleton diagram with the center stroke.
Methods: Three horizontal lines are vertically divided into three horizontal lines, and the spacing between the three horizontal lines is half the length of the short line.
3. Paste the corresponding bamboo strips in the order shown in the figure.
4. Cut the kite pieces.
Methods: First, connect the vertices of the corresponding bamboo strips with a gel pen and a long ruler, cut out the bagua kite pieces along the line with an art knife, and then seal the two straight edges with transparent tape with the width of 1 cm to prevent the kite surface from being blown by the wind. At this point, the center of gravity of the kite fragment is in the middle.
5. Cooperate with the tail and shift the center of gravity.
The lateral balance of kites is solved by symmetrical pulling and bamboo balancing. Then, the vertical balance of kite flying is solved by sticking the tail strip down to the center of gravity, which is located in the middle of the second and third horizontal bamboo strips. At this time, as long as the tail strip is attached to the finger, the kite can keep balance and the tail strip is stuck.
6. Tie the rope. (commonly known as river line)
Method: a) Measure the same distance from the two ends of the first horizontal bamboo stick (the intersection edge), and tie the two ends of a tie line at these two points respectively, so that the midpoint of the line just falls on the intersection point of the vertical bamboo stick and the third horizontal bamboo stick.
B) It is best to tie one end of the other line below the intersection of the vertical bamboo strip and the third horizontal bamboo strip.
C) Put the kite flat on the table, and lift the midpoint of the upper thread and the other end of the lower thread. When the plane where the upper thread is located is perpendicular to the surface of the kite, the length of the lower thread is fixed, and the three threads are tied tightly, so that the kite is completed.
Verb (abbreviation of verb) Note:
1. When repairing bamboo piles, don't put your hands in front of the knife to avoid hurting your hands. When repairing the pile, the blade should be cut vertically or obliquely to avoid damaging the bamboo green in front of the pile, and the pile section can also be leveled with a file.
2. It is hoped that the knotting point of the messenger wire will be glued firmly with dry glue to avoid the messenger wire from scattering during flight.
3. The film of the tail strip should not be too thin. It can be cut with thick film packaging bags to avoid the tail being too long, and the kite should be hung on the treetops or the roof.
4. Don't use scissors to cut bagua kite pieces, so as not to form serrated edges, which will cause turbulence and affect flight stability.
5. The connection between the tail strip and the kite piece should be strengthened with transparent tape with a width of 1cm to prevent the tail from falling off when flying.
6. The lengths of the two lines should be equal, and they can be measured with a ruler, otherwise the flight stability will be affected.
Summary:
Making kites by pasting method requires no adjustment and has a high success rate. As long as the bamboo strips are carefully trimmed, the correct skeleton diagram is drawn, the bamboo strips are attached according to the lines drawn, and then the position of the center of gravity is adjusted as needed, the tail is connected, the counterweight is hung, and the lifting line is tied, so that the kite can be released.
Reflection:
1. The length of bamboo strips is determined by their own calculation. Many students still don't know the length of bamboo strips, so pay attention.
2. Draw a picture of a skeleton paste. Many students are inattentive and don't know where the picture is and how long it has been drawn. (Make it clear next time).
Many students use scissors to cut kite fragments. Rough and curved lines will affect the balance, cause bumps, and cause fluctuations and instability in flight, which should be corrected in time. It is required to learn to trim the edges of paper with a ruler and a knife.
4. There are still some students whose river lines are not in the right position, and the lengths of the two lines are not equal, which will also cause flying problems, such as sideways, rotating and backward cutting, which should be corrected in time.
5. Some students stick double-sided tape at will, which causes the surface of the Zheng to be uneven and affects the flight.
6. Remind students who are eager to fly, to have it both ways, and fly against the wind.
