How to catch more crabs in cages?
Grounding cage:
It is the main fishing gear for river crabs. The ground cage sinks to the bottom of the water, and the bottom net is close to the bottom of the pool. Its shape is like a long box, its cross section is close to square, and its height and width are 40~60 cm. It is made of bamboo or round iron and wrapped in polyethylene net. Both ends can extend for a long distance, up to tens of meters, hence the name "ground cage".
Method:
Install a gabion under the net and embed it in the mud bottom to prevent the river crab from leaking through the net.
The square cage is covered with a net, which extends horizontally for 8~ 10 cm to prevent the river crab from escaping the net.
The ground cage is provided with a cuff every few meters, and the cuff extends backward into the net, so that the river crab can enter but not exit.
Bags are arranged at both ends of the ground cage for collecting river crabs.
Using the habit of crabs crawling close to the bottom of the pool, the ground cage intercepts the passage in the whole pool, forcing crabs to enter the inverted sleeve of the ground cage and gather in the bag.
This fishing tool has a high fishing rate and has been widely used in various places.
